Keith7940236 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I just signed off on a Custom Eagle order through Jay Wolfe. Should be about 12-16 weeks until it arrives. I spoke with Marv Lamb this morning regarding the neck carve, he sure sounds like a great guy. Lots of good mojo in Kalamazoo! Can't wait for NGD!!!

Blunote Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 What's a Heritate #3 pickup? Something they wind themselves?
Keith7940236 Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 If I'm not mistaken, there have been three floating pickups made by Kenny Rambo for Heritage. The #3 is the latest incantation. It's really a nice, fat, mellow sounding pickup. I used to have one on an H-575 Custom.
DetroitBlues Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 That finish sounds awesome! Can't wait to see the final product. Congrats.

It's really a nice, fat, mellow sounding pickup. I used to have one on an H-575 Custom. I have had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Rambow and he loves making pickups and guitars. This guy has passion for guitar building and playing. Mr. Rambow and Heritage teamed up for me recently and built a killer guitar. I just call it the Mr. Rambow Model. It is the third Rambow designed Heritage I have acquired but this one is built for me and it is nasty. Enjoy your new Heritage, y2kc
2bornot2bop Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Right on Keith! Can't wait to see that killer finsh!
mark555 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I am looking forward to seeing the pics, enjoy savouring the arrival..!
Genericmusic Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Rambo along with HOC's own MartyGrass this past weekend at Pete Moreno's shop. What an interesting gentleman. He gave me a mini seminar on electromagnetic fields and sound along with the floating PUP's he designed for Heritage. He also solved a perplexing issue with my #3 floating PUP thus giving me a wider range of tone control from a tone pot I installed on my PG. I spent the earlier part of the day down at Aaron's Cowles shop. He is not starting anymore custom builds. His health is failing. In fact if anyone owns a Cowles' custom built Unity or Jubal I would suggest they hold onto it. It will increase dramatically in value over the next few years. No back to the regular thread with my apologies for the interruption.
drfie Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Can you confirm that Mr. Rambo and Mr. Grass are two different people?
Genericmusic Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Can you confirm that Mr. Rambo and Mr. Grass are two different people? Kenny prefers solid bodies guitars and MartyGrass had one of the most beautiful archtops I've seen in my life.
brentrocks Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Congrats to you for ordering a new Heritage....helping to keep a great company moving!!!
blueox Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 That's a good plunge--nothing like jumping into the deep end! Yes, the waiting is tough, but Heritage doesn't charge any more for the anticipation.
Billgelder Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Wise choice going with Jay. "The waiting is the hardest partEvery day you see one more cardYou take it on faith, you take it to the heartThe waiting is the hardest part" Tom Petty
PunkKitty Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Very cool. I'm looking forward to the pictures. Congrats!
