DC Ron Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 never get tired of this thread... yes, the bridge base was upside down when these were taken. Since corrected...
Gitfiddler Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 If Super Eagles are at the top of the Heritage food chain, then the Citation must be the Great White Shark of archtops! What a masterpiece among masterpieces!!
schundog Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 If Super Eagles are at the top of the Heritage food chain, then the Citation must be the Great White Shark of archtops! What a masterpiece among masterpieces!! Centurion, right?
RhoadsScholar Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Very Cool to see a Blue Super Eagle. Love the Wood on that one !
eljay Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 my nomination for picture of the year. great guitarist, great guitar!
mark555 Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 There are some really wonderful guitars pictured in this thread, I envy you guys who own them
Gitfiddler Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Centurion, right? Correct! Man, I always get those names mixed up. Sorry, Fred.
SouthpawGuy Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 A U.K. blonde This Blonde needs a closer inspection ...
2bornot2bop Posted March 10, 2013 Author Posted March 10, 2013 Yes indeed blondes do have more fun! I'd give 'em all up for that Centurian. Oh my!
sonar Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Beautiful pictures (the whole reason I just bought a camera). My Eagle is a Classic not a Super, but it's still pretty by my reckoning. I want to save the pictures in this thread. I just love the whole thing about nice archtops, even though I generally must gig with a Strat, etc. nowadays. 'Course, there's always room on my couch for noodling and snuggling with archtops: no feedback issues at home either (usually).
DC Ron Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Yes indeed blondes do have more fun! I'd give 'em all up for that Centurian. Oh my! That is an awesome trio!
2bornot2bop Posted March 11, 2013 Author Posted March 11, 2013 Thx all! They've each strengths of their own but the SKB is truly everything I've sought in a jazz archtop.
Gitfiddler Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 The SKB has a very uniquely shaped pickguard and what apears to be a Kent Armstrong 12 pole PAF. Awesome! Now all you need is a Heritage Henry Johnson signature archtop for your amazing collection. http://www.heritageguitar.com/models/henryjohnson.html
Hfan Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Damn. P90's too? Too cool Mr Slate. Would someone please send me a Super Eagle forthwith so I might participate in this thread? I'll pay half the shipping and return it at some future date, I promise.

Aaron Cowles made the ebony pickguard and installed the KA. did you miss the Buscarino ebony tailpiece? I'd be happy to forgo an HJ archtop if I could play like Henry Johnson. Nice guy too!
FredZepp Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Centurion, right? Correct! Man, I always get those names mixed up. Sorry, Fred. No problem, Citations are sweet guitars also. Thanks for the compliment in the first place. Man... those pics of the three Supers are pretty incredible. It's inviting to think of which one would I pick . The blue finish has a way of really bringing out the best in the figuring. I'd lean towards the blonde for it's classic look and fine woods. But perhaps it's the SKB that takes the prize for it's tone nirvana ...... no bad choices of those three.

SE's are uncommon enough...but Centurian's are rarer than RARE!!! That archtop looks like a smokey jazz club of the old days! Beautiful pictures (the whole reason I just bought a camera). I'm about to acquire a Nikon - that should help shooting indoors with low light. I saw the identical Eagle Classic in the same shade recently for sale on the west coast. Gorgeous finish that Chestnut Sunburst! CONGRATS!!!

I may take you up on that one day, maybe I can call dibs on one.. I understand there is a major Jazz guitar dealer in northern NJ that has a great inventory as well. Yes here it is, 500 in stock wow, need to visit one day. http://guitarsnjazz.com/ I bought a 575 in 2007 hoping to take some jazz lessons, one day maybe.

Lou from GNJ is well known across the country. I've spoken to him by phone and considered a Victor Baker archtop in their inventory. VB's a well known luthier-player who began in Philly who now operates out of NYC. Check out his website...you'll be blown away!
