My 525 build: opinions wanted!

Of course it is a matter or personal taste. My feeling is that I would add the blocks/split blocks.

I'm having mine built with no inlays in the fretboard and no inlays in the headstock. I felt that it would look clean and consistent. I considered adding an Eagle to the headstock, but then felt that I would need to add inlays on the fretboard to balance it out.

I guess what I'm saying is, to me, it may look unbalanced or incomplete without the neck inlays. I say go for it!

What he said, personal preference.

I like dots. split blocks are okay. I don't much care for full blocks. If it's an ebony board, no markers at all or just a 12th fret marker is cool.

A cosmetic question.

Will a bound headstock, with inlayed MOP logo and eagle/branch look strange with a bound dot neck?

Should I add blocks/split blocks to the beck??

I think the inlays on a bound headstock with a blank ebony board would look understated and elegant, just my take on it.

I had the same thought when I ordered my H-550, but I left it as it was. Who can argue with this.......

There is only one person whose opinion matters-the one who is writing the check.

Whatever you decide won't be wrong.

I can't wait to see pictures.
