Caps Replaced? Why would you think that?

hmmm. I'd say those 3 electrolytics hanging out of the back are not OEM components.

.....considering the original was a cardboard cap can

......and it was mounted on the other side.

some of those Sprague Atom look-a-likes are deceiving. Tiny cap inside a big blue can.

 

The other thing to be aware is that there might be too much capacitance for the tube rectifier. That will kill the tube and may be bad for the transformer.

I love Kalamazoo Models 1 and 2. I've built a 2 from scratch. I'm going to do another one with solid state rectification.
