Questions about my H-150

Hi everyone... new here!

So I bought this Heritage 150 WAAYY back when on the advice of a friend of mine who worked in a guitar shop. I believe it was around 1997ish. I'm thinking of selling her, since I really don't play much anymore, but I have no idea what would be a fair price. The model# is K 17004, and it's a cherry sunburst. It's still beautiful except for a few things:

1. The bridge pickup usually doesn't work. I'm not sure if it's the wiring or the pickup itself. I haven't had time (or the skill really) to mess with it much.

2. There are a few tiny digs and blemishes here and there around the neck, but nothing major.

3. It needs to be cleaned up a bit (no problem there, really)

So, is this a case where the age is a good thing? I haven't seen many model #'s lower than mine on ebay or anything. I also am wondering if I would be better off taking it in and having everything fixed and setup 1st, and then selling, or if I should sell it as is.

Thanks for any advice! and I can get a few pics when I get home in a little while if necessary.

I'll give you $200 for it.

But seriously, can you post pictures? A lot depends on the condition of the guitar. It needs some electronic work. So that knocks a bit off of the price. But pictures would really help to give you an honest idea of the price.

Think $1100 +/- $200, but a picture(s) says a lot in the determination of potential market value.

If you end up selling it, please put it in the correct category here or a magic trick may occur.

PK is correct, pictures would be helpful. K serial would make it a 1994 and the price will be dependent on the condition and the maple top. Huge flame would be a value builder.

Yes, I will get some pics later tonight or tomorrow.

Only one I have right now is from last year when I redid my basement...

Spend a little time persuing the classifieds here and you'll get a clearer picture of the range.

I did, but I'm not sure because of the electrical problems. I'm more or less wondering if I'd be better off putting a couple hundred into it, and then selling, or selling it as is.

Had my wife shoot me a few pics to "show off" the other blemishes, not the best pics, but give you an idea...

Overall look:

Keys need some serious polishing:

Here you can see some of the "blemishes" I'm talking about. The finish is a little messy in a few spots around the sides of the neck...

So keep any info or advice coming, was actually surprised to get a few responses so quickly!! Most people I know never even heard of a Heritage! haha.

** Oh, and I have the pickguard in the case, was never used.

That looks like a "2" above the serial number ? If so that would make it a factory second, which would affect the value.

Yes, there is an engraved "2" there, what does that mean?

That means it's a factory second. That's usually due to cosmetic issues.

How much does it weigh?

I don't have a scale. LOL... it's a freakin' tank though! heaviest guitar I've ever played.

Yeah, I looked up factory 2nd, so that kinda sucks... now I have to track down an old friend that ripped me off 26 years ago!! haha! I don't see how that matters though, seeing as I've added my own blemishes to it. ;)

So just bumping this up a little. Can anyone give me a ballpark they think it's worth? I have a couple friends that seem interested, but I don't want to let it go for too little, nor do I want to rip anyone off. I was thinking around $600 as is would be fair, but what do you think?

I'd give you $600 for it as-is because it's worth quite a bit more than that.

I think $900-1050 would make it disappear quickly.

Also, check under the control cavity plate to verify the model. It could be an H150 Special.

Wow, nice! .. that sticker is in there, it says H-150 CM ACB

Thank you!

The photos show virtually NO figuring in the top. There must be some, give the 150CM designation (Curly Maple) Better pics would be nice, if at all possible.

ACB is Antique Cherry Burst. Good luck with your sale - looks like you'll have a little extra above your initial estimate :)

I think it should go for around $900. If there is a problem with the pickup, that's $50-100 that will need to be spent. If it's just the switch or pot, that would probably run around $25 -$50. Depending on the buyer, it could probably use a good disassembly, cleaning, and setting up. The fact that it's a factory second does drop the value.

If it's a good player, then most of that won't matter for someone looking for a good workhorse guitar.

Thanks very much for the replies. I am going to try and sell it locally for now and would be happy getting $800 for it w/o having to ship it. I'm not even sure how to go about shipping something this heavy and large anyways. If I don't have any luck around here (WNY), then I would list it here before going the Ebay route.
