Those prices are good. I assume these European shops prices include tax? I know there's no duty but do they include the VAT? The Leftyguitars shop seems like a good place. At least I can see them if not try them. I might buy an H-535 eventually. I'll keep a watch on that site. I want a light coloured H-353. Maybe plain or a subdued burst. That'll have to wait though. The deal with the H-575 was OK but I'd have prefered to pay less for the H-150. I needed it quick though for recording purposes. The Les Paul wasn't cutting it and the H-575 was acoustically noisy and disturbing neighbours. I do have an amp but I'm generally using various valve gear to record. The Heritages are the only guitars I've tried where the raw sound with some valve EQ and a little valve distortion is rich enough to work without going through an amp.

I'm not even primarily interested in the cool looking flame tops on the Heritages. That's just an added bonus. They sound great.

Yes VAT is included in those prices. The Heritage upcharge for a lefty guitar is about $300 so those prices are indeed good for Europe, I'm in Ireland btw. No one stocks right handed Heritage guitars here never mind lefty ones.

My first Heritage was a 535 in golden amber bought from Wolfe Guitars in Florida, even with shipping and import duty, VAT etc it still cost less than buying from the UK or Europe.

I looked into getting from the US. I could see it might be cheaper, all things considered but I was wary about it. I'm a little suspect of Heritages quality control, not in terms of basic construction but their finishing off. Drilling holes in the right places. that sort of thing. I like to know returning is easy. The mainland Europe places are probably best.

I took my H-575 outside today to take a photo. Now yoy can see the crazy flame and general mismatch. When you move it around it's almost 3D. Really quilted looking but the quilting effect is huge. Maybe they couldn't find a better match and this was just an extreme piece of flamed wood. I like it because it is definitely different. To be honest I don't care about the wood. I didn't pick my guitars due to that.

Here's another shot. It's difficult to photograph. Mad flame. Pity it wasn't better matched, then it would be the most extreme H-575 you've ever seen.

What do people think about the bookmatching? It seems to be highly regarded if a guitar has perfect bookmatching. Personally, as long as each side has some interest and one is not plain while the other fancy, I quite like them not bookmatched. I actually dont like those extreme perfect flames perfectly matched like you see on PRS guitars. It almost looks fake.

Nice lefties, welcome to the HOC.

Not as nice looking as your H-576 which I've just seen. That's a real stunner. Lovely looking wood.
