MartyGrass Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 This 2002 was listed not long ago by StudioBill then SkyDog52. So I get sloppy thirds. It has a few unusual features. The board is ebony but has traps. The toggle switch is LP positioned. No gold hardware. Ultra top. HRWs. The instrument was refretted with what looks to be medium jumbo wire, and it was done perfectly. I don't know if the old frets were worn or if the owner just wanted a different kind of fretwire. I suspect the latter since the whole board was refretted. Alternatively, he may have ordered it without fret binding. The nut is bone. The neck is a medium D and perfectly straight. It plays very nicely. I'm guessing it's about 7.5 lbs. I took pix of the body cavities for those interested. It gives insight (literally) into how it was made. Cool guitar all and all. http://s796.photobucket.com/user/mgoetting/library/Millennium%20Cherry%20Sunburst#/user/mgoetting/library/Millennium%20Cherry%20Sunburst?page=1&_suid=1364055167503011808321015765538
RhoadsScholar Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Simply stunning Mark. I am a fan of a good clownburst . This is one of the best I have seen. Nice score!
brentrocks Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 If that would have been a DC, I might have....
DetroitBlues Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 If that would have been a DC, I might have.... I have a lot of "If's" myself every time a sweet Heritage comes around?
chico Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 It has silver hardware too, that is not spec. My preference is silver/nickel anyway, fwiw, which is what I have on my H155 w/HRWs. Note the sticker calls it a Millenium "Standard" which I have never heard used before. I figure it is a Millie H155, custom order. sweet. Would love to see that at PSP..
bolero Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 holy crap....gorgeous specimen Marty you are a true Heritage connoiseur!! I prefer my frets over the binding like that as well....especially with that wide style, you lose a lot of fret area\ also think the millie's should all have the toggle up there, I see no reason they put it down on the horn?
Millennium Maestro Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 also think the millie's should all have the toggle up there, I see no reason they put it down on the horn? I agree Bolero... She is a hottie! I am hoping when she comes back available I will be able to jump her bones!! I also hope the HRWs are still in her!! 2 thumbs up from the Maestro...
Gitfiddler Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 In life, we are all just renters. That is one thick piece of maple!!!!! Gorgeous Millie. Play it in good health.
rockabilly69 Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 I almost bought this guitar as soon as it was posted, but I decided to save up for a new goldtop h150 with p90s. It looks great, congrats on a fine looking rig!
mark555 Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 really nice, I like the traditional cherry finish and ebony board, I also like the frets over the binding.
212Mavguy Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 My two Millies are very nice sounding as well as looking instruments. Congratulations! Gorgeous!
chico Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 You know I never checked my 155 MIllie to see if the frets were over the binding as mentioned here, I took a look, and mine are too. I do like the ebony board and the frets like that. learn something new everyday..
Keith7940236 Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Very nice, I think I'm starting to get the Millie bug............
