JeffB Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Sorry if this question has been asked already. Anyone here have a 150CM-LW? I was just browsing the Heritage web site and saw they made this weight relieved model. How much lighter is it? I have a back injury that means as much as I love my 150cm I cant do a full gig with it with out paying for it the next week. Im considering a 140 but even they are a weighty guitar. Would a 150cm-lw be lighter than a 140? A tone comparison would be great as well Thanks
tulk1 Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Katie, an HoC member and Heritage employee has one. I got to hold at the Pilgrimage. Did not get to play it. However, that thing only weighed about 6lbs +/- yet had a resonant sustain that was incredible. I was poking a finger at the colors (gotta see that one) when she plucked a string. The whole body just started singing and the sustain went on for a very very long time. You could feel it subisiding until it finally just stopped. Totally amazing!! If I was in the market for a 150 series I'd have to consider the LW. And if you're concerned about weight but want that LP shape -- this is the one!!!
Thundersteel Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 I've got one--it sounds incredible! The Seth Lovers really make it sing! The color is Burnt Amber. However, I've been thinking about selling it. I've got waaaaaaay too many guitars to justify keeping them all. That's the problem--out of the eight I own, I only need three--but I can't decide which 3 I need!

I feel the same way about my amps........waaaay too many.

I don't see any Heritage acoustics on your list. >
Millennium Maestro Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 I have more than my share of Gibson, etc. But this is a Heritage site.... I prefer my Heritages!! As far as acoustics, hate to say it, I only own one... a Seagull and I love it! Almost bought a gorgeous 575 though.... I have been thinning my herd a little lately!
Millennium Maestro Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Sorry for getting off track Tully. Good luck on your hunt, hope you find a sweet guitar that doesnt break your back!!!
JeffB Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 Sorry for getting off track Tully. Good luck on your hunt, hope you find a sweet guitar that doesnt break your back!!! Im happy for things to get off track, prefer it, its human. I could handle 7.5 pounds easier than 11. Both my strat and PRS weigh around 8 pounds and I can manage those. Thanks for a new avenue of gas
Millennium Maestro Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 One thing I would highly recommend about the Millennium Series is that they have solid wood tops and backs giving it a more true electric tone with the features of a weight relieved Paul style guitar. When you start getting into the traditional semi-hollows guitars, they tend to have a PLY wood construction..Different sound!!!

FYI, I've got a Millie with a laminate top. I'm thinking we shouldn't get too caught up in the laminates being "ply" wood. That generally carries a conotation of cheaper woods glued to form a stronger union. Which, altho' the term is correct, in the case of Heritage guitars it's all maple. And some mighty fine looking maple, too, if I'm remembering that stack of laminates correctly. I will say, tho', that the Millie I've had spec'd out is with a solid top/back

JeffB Posted August 20, 2008 Author Posted August 20, 2008 Solution ;D Played it, liked it. Not sure about the natural finish though. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll284/lostcause_05/IMGP3817.jpg[/img]

I would bring in another guitar I already owned and compare sounds to see if the sound was gonna be right for you. 535 is a really sweet instrument, almost cant go wrong. Good Luck, Happy Hunting.

This pic is from my working environment. Its quiet dangerous and not for the easily swayed. I really like my 150, so despite its weight Ill keep it. But I dont have any semi or hollow bods so something like this is some where to start I guess. Ill use any guitar to play any song ;D
