Bonefish Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Marty does not appear to be using nitro From Website: After working close with some of the countries better guitar factories, I merged polyester base-coating with urethane top-coating. This resulted in a thin, hard and durable finish resulting in a rapid turnaround time with low sinkage and a positive effect on the overall tone of an instrument. Q: Will refinishing my guitar change the tone?A: We use a process whose end result is a much thinner finish than the factory usually ends up with. This allows the guitar to transfer the tone from the wood, usually giving a better tone than most factory finished guitars. This also depends on the wood that the body is made from.
