Guest HRB853370 Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 My daughter has been taking lessons from Barry Bailey, lead guitar player for Atlanta Rhythm Section. She can already play the licks for Spooky. So Into You, and other ARS songs. Here is a photo of her playing her Heritage 150.
Gitfiddler Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Great stuff, Will. Sounds like she's inherited Dad's musical genes! Lessons will help her blossom and enjoy playing YOUR guitars even more.
mtpatty Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Awesome! Barry Bailey is one of my all time favorites! Nice guitar and beautiful daughter- congrats!
HANGAR18 Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Great! I'm looking forward to seeing what her signature model guitar will look like!
chico Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 nice looking daughter you have there, and she's learning guitar to boot! damn! BTW, is her teacher showing her those nice bends in "ain't gonna bother me tonight"?
skydog Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 One of my favorite ARS tunes was Imaginary Lovers. If you played the LP at 45 it sounded exactly like Stevie Nicks!

Unfortunately she is 150 miles away from me! She is playing a worn 150 Special, and the weight suits her really good!
mark555 Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I am a really strong believer in starting kids out on good guitars, I let my son keep my strat in his room for over a year while he got to grips with his playing. That was when he was fourteen. He's now 26, just married and on his last visit home from where he now lives 250 miles away, he took my strat and one of my amps back with him, he can have it as long as he wants. Great picture, lovely looking daughter, like myself and others here I can tell you are a proud dad. Nice picture and what a guitar to star playing on.
Dell18 Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 That's pretty f ing slick. I play mostly metal/punk/thrash but love ARS and most classic rock/funk/prog/blues stuff. It's what I grew up on. My 9yo plays, Squire and Ibanez mini's through her Fender Greta (ugh) or Jet City JCA20 (love it, recorded with it today). Her favorites are Alice Cooper, Funkadelic, Bowie, Peter Gabriel and the first two Judas Priest albums. It's so cool to see other people handing good stuff down to their kids. I got a killer teacher for her here, he is a truly amazing guitarist I've respected for 20+ years but he ain't the guitarist for ARS. That is really really cool. Nice work. You as a parent and her as a guitarist.
