I pulled the trigger on this one today !

Owner is not a member of HOC but is a member of My Les Paul's Forum and The Gear Page.

I mentioned shipping insurance and he mentioned he has shipped many guitars over the years and has only had one problem. He mentioned that even with insurance he could not get the carrier to pay for damages. Said they only seem to pay out if the package is totally lost. Not sure if this is just international shipping experience or not.

What have you all experienced?

I have never had trouble shipping within the lower 48 but it is just a matter of luck to a degree. Out of all the guitars and camera gear I have only had one package lost and B&H Photo sent another right away.

Kinda' the same kind of luck I had this afternoon. I pulled out of a parking space at the grocery at the same time the guy behind me did. We didn't wreck but the guy acted pissed. I told him not to get mad but he happy about our good fortune. Accidents happen.

Good looking guitar by the way.

Thank you.

And I think you are right on the idea of luck. Hope this one makes it without incident :)

I've only had one guitar arrive damaged; an early model Heritage H-140 that arrived with a broken headstock. I don't know how it all played out as the seller has to file the claim as he is the shipper's client. I was refunded almost immediately by the seller.

Just an update

The guitar was mailed from Italy on Monday and I received it in the Pacific Northwest on Wed !

Seemed to have survived the shipping process in great shape
