I am somewhat embarrassed to admit that I have never bought a new Heritage from a dealer. I'm not sure if this qualifies or not, as this is a "N" serial #, yet never-owned 575 from a guy that I don't see Heritage even listing as a dealer anymore. The dealer has had this 575, along with a CNSB 535 and Clownburst 150, ALL with premium woods, ever since I can remember. While he was sold on the Heritage quality and story, I think he regrets getting these great guitars all those years ago, as he says anything over $500 in economically depressed Decatur, IL, is a tough sell. I think he's probably right. I knew I was in trouble when I took a good long look at the finish on this baby. I've always admired Guitfiddler's SSBs, and this guitar is everything a Heritage should be. I haven't had much time tonight, but I snapped these quick picks. I'll get better ones with natural light soon.

I asked the shop owner if the 1 year warranty was still good, after all this time. He said he wasn't sure, but he promised that it was under warranty with HIM as long as he was alive, and I believe him. He's a very able tech/repair, and gave me a nice leather strap, a couple polish cloths, some Martin cleaner spray, and a nice 18' cable. A 575 has been on my wish list for some time now. Needless to say, I'm stoked!

You only got the one? It looks nice. Don't take your eyes off it at PSP.

Now that is 575!!!! Way to go Brian, I LOVE mine.

I love my GE too, but there is something to be said about the short scale tone (warm, rounder, not as snappy... very Jim Hall & Pat Metheny) and the ease of play on the shorter scale.

AWESOME!!!!! (and you are right, we deserve better pics!!)

Congrats Brian. That is a beauty! I've always liked the Sunset burst color especially on that model.

Happy New Guitar Day

That's the guy! I made the mistake of bringing up the fact that I had applied for my FOID (Firearms Owner's ID card; Illinois is the only state, I believe, that requires one) so that I could get a hand gun for home protection, and nearly didn't get out of his shop for ANOTHER 1/2 hour, as he wanted to talk and talk and talk about THAT.

Very nice Brian! What is the first song you played on it?

A very simple ii-V-I chord progression. I've got my work cut out for me to try to do this guitar (or any of them, for that matter) justice.

This won't be my main guitar; I'm still young enough at heart to want to crank it up more often than not. Still, I'm looking forward to exploring where this thing will take me, and have about 5 Truefire Jazz courses to try to wade through.

It's funny, I played the guitar, and told the owner I wanted it, and wanted to take it home with me that day, but I wanted to bring it back sometime soon to have him buff out a couple of areas that needed a little bit of attention. I was being pretty nit-picky, as I expected it to be damn-near perfect. He hesitated, and then said, OK, kid (he always calls me that!), you just have to take good care of her... Hmmm, that's an odd comment, I thought. He then, almost apologetically said he had to do this "by the book," and write up a ticket on the guitar. Even Weirder, I thought. Of course I would want a receipt. As it turns out, he thought I just wanted to take the guitar home and try it out without buying/paying for it! I assured him I was going to buy it that day, I just wanted the work done at a later time. I couldn't believe he was going to trust me to leave with that thing without paying for it! Of course, he owns around 100 guns, and knows where I live....

Thanks for the nice comments, everyone. Rob, I would be honored to have you put this thing through it's paces at PSP!

That's a nice looking guitar Brian. I bet it's going to be one of your favorites for just sitting on the couch playing unplugged!
