Received my new H-157 Vintage Wineburst with chrome hardware ordered last October. Glad I went with the Vintage Wineburst and the chrome hardware looks great with it. Seth Lover pickups.

It arrived last Monday. Setup was horrible when it arrived from the dealer. Luckily there are two good local luthiers and after a setup, it plays great. Seths sound good in it. Weighs 9 lbs 11 oz according to a UPS scale.

Looks much better than the pics.

Do you have any crisper photos? It does not resemble VWB in that photo, at least to my eyes. How in the world would a dealer let a brand new guitar from Heritage go to a customer without an adequate setup? That is inexcusable, unless you have some very special requirements as far as string height and action! Would love to see more photos. Look at my avatar-that is VWB too.

The photo is not very good, taken from my cell phone. But it is definitely VWB, no question. The setup was so bad that it buzzed strongly in the first several frets and on the high E string it actually, was making the plink type sound. No special requirements for the setup.

Congratulations! Now it's play time. The lack of proper setup from the dealer is a bummer.

It is normal to require a setup when the guitar leaves the factory. The dealer should take care of that.

I have worked through this issue a few different ways. Usually I tell the dealer I don't want to pay for a setup and will subtract $50 from the guitar cost. That is usually agreeable.

Even if they set it up, they use the wrong strings. I'd rather do it myself.

No kidding. I would go back to the dealer and ask for a $50 credit. If he refused, I would ask, "which would you rather do? Keep the $50 and let me bad mouth you? Or credit me $50?" I think the answer would be a no brainer.

Good luck!

Congratulations! VWB is a beautiful finish; I wouldn't mind having a 535 finished that way. Enjoy your new Heritage!

Thanks guys. The picture doesn't do it justice at all. Must be from the flash of my cell phone. I'll charge up my digital camera and see if I can't get a better pic. The chrome hardware goes really well with the wineburst finish and the black ebony board. Highly recommend this combo.
