Millennium Eagle 2000 with new Bigsby

This is my 13 year old Millie with Fralin P92s (lower winds) with a brand spanking new B7 on it. As requested, here are the pix.

The Bigsby is a little stiff but works just right. The break angle isn't too steep and the roller bridge inserts allow perfectly smooth vibrato. The handle is, well, handy at exactly the right spot.

Maybe you can tell that I'm thrilled with the result.

Pete Moreno did the installation masterfully. Of course he's done this literally more than a thousand times probably.

Heritage installed the original tailpiece off center, which I've seen before. That isn't important with a fixed TP so much but is a big deal with a vibrato. He filled the old holes then installed the Bigsby using a set of straight edges. The Bigsby covers the old holes, so there is no cosmetic issue.

He provided a new set of strings and did a full set up. $45 out the door. Oh, he also noted the pickup ring screws had quite a bit of corrosion on them, so he replaced them gratis.

How can he charge so little? He's very efficient.

These are not glamor shots, but they show the work.

Ooooh, that's nice! A B7 Millie Eagle, now that's special! And what a beauty it is. Congrats!

Since you've upgraded from STP to Bigsby, did you experience a change in sound, maybe lesser sustain? Just curious.

Nice little pickguard by the way. Such a beautiful guitar.

I can't honestly answer the sustain question fairly.

I'm in the honeymoon period with it. Don't expect a trustworthy assessment when I'm in an emotional tailspin.

The previous tailpiece wasn't a STP. It had a soft break angle. I'd suspect that the sustain would be better with the Bigsby based on simple physics.

Here's the previous tailpiece.

Of course, the Millie Eagle doesn't have a STP, my fault. I see you've already used the roller bridge with the original tailpiece, so I guess there's not much difference in sustain anyway. Enjoy your honeymoon!

MartyGrass how are you liking the Fralin P92s ?

I came very close to opting for them on my 576. I wasn't sure if the offset adjustable pole pieces would cause problems when reversed on a left handed guitar, so I went for P-Rails.
