Got this guitar today from Brent.  All I can say is, "Wow!!!!"  Not only is it beautiful, but it plays and sounds fantastic.  The HRWs are great for hard rock, by the way.  They have so much character to them but are very tight and focused.  The first thing I did was plug it in and play "Spirit of Radio"...I didn't even modify my preamp settings, and it was dead-on to the sound that Alex Lifeson got with his old ES-355.  Ebony fretboards are a great choice on a semi-hollow, since they add a bit more 'sparkle' to the sound.

The neck surprised me a little bit.  My 157 has a very round, but narrow '60s profile, where the 555 has a somewhat thinner, flatter shape.  Very, very playable--I'm not a big fan of the '50s profile.

Here are the pics that Brent took for his listing:

BTW, Brent packs guitars well enough to survive WWIII.  He's an absolute stand-up guy to deal with, too.

One of my BIG errors of omission at The Pilgrimage was not playing that 555!  I heard it though, I think tulk was spanking it, and it sounded terrific!  Nice score, pro-fusion.  A stunning guitar!    8)

Damn, that is one sexy Blue Burst!

Now that she's on her third owner (or more) it's almost like the sexy girl in High School that makes the rounds with all of the Varsity Football players...only better! >:D

It's a beauty for sure!

Alicia said the blue was so deep that she wanted to bite it, like it was candy!
