brentrocks Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 In the Schundog spirit, I went pawn shop browsing today. Its kind of ironic, the one pawn shop is in the building where Dillons Music used to be on Cork st in Kalamazoo.... I walked in and saw this beautiful VSB H 150 behind the counter! I asked to see it. Noticed a headstock repair right away! Let the haggleing begin!!!! They were asking $1185....i laughed We came to an agreement...OHSC included Got it home, cleaned it up, took out the SD 59ers, installed the Pete Flourance VOODO 59 pickups i got from KUZ. Its a H 150 Classic, one piece back, medium C neck, rosewood board....2003 Thanks Brian for the inspiration!!!
High Flying Bird Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Nice finish Brent. I know the pawn shop you are talking about. It's across the street from a super market.
smurph1 Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Imagine finding A Heritage in a pawn shop in Kalamazoo..Who'd a thunk it? LOL
tulk1 Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Looks like it was fixed up well. AND! that looks like a dandy guitar, Brently. You do seem to have the knack.
bolero Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Wow I wish I could find stuff like that in pawn shops around here!! Congratulations!!
TalismanRich Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Very cool deal. Looks like its got a little honest play wear on the back of the neck. I remember the first year I came up to K'zoo. I spent part of the afternoon riding around trying to find some music shops. There were supposed to be two on Cork St but only one was open and I think he was closed by the following year. One of them had to be Dillons.
DavesNotHere Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Sweet top on that one. I love me some VSB action
schundog Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Very nice, man! Congratulations; you never know WHAT you are going to find in those places. VSB is, in my opinion, one of the best finishes on a 150. Rock on, bro!
schundog Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 He's not BUYING, he's INVESTING. At east that's how I explain it to Wifey.
Jsnlmcclrg Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 I looked at that this morning hanging on the wall, when they were talking about finding the case for it, i knew it was gone.

yoslate Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Looks like the "right" kind of break, and a good repair. Good score, sir!
Jsnlmcclrg Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 were you the guy that got bit by the pitbulls? I must have been gone before that, i heard them talking about finding the case for the heritage, and figured the only thing i would have bought just got sold, in fact they were passing the guitar over the counter for closer inspection when i was walking out.
HANGAR18 Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Great job putting the Habeas Grabius on that H150! Everyone should have a VSB in their collection.
DetroitBlues Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Very nice Brent! I'd call dibs, but I'm sure it's spoken for
bolero Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 were you the guy that got bit by the pitbulls? Brent now has trained attack dogs, to keep other aficionados away from his snatches!! beware
tsp17 Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Nothing better than a pawn shop score. Well done brother!
