bolero Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 saw this in the Gallery...Curly working on what looks like a 575
Guest HRB853370 Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 The calloused hands of a true craftsman!!!
tulk1 Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 You can tell anything from that picture? What am I missing?
bolero Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 I'm pretty sure it's a jig to clamp & glue the sides of a 575 or maybe something else similar, at the cutaway I'm not sure if the center piece of wood stays in the gtr or not? guessing it does...
High Flying Bird Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 By chance I looked up and saw one of Victor's photos. Feel better Kenny?
hinesarchtop Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 The coolest designs and tools are always simple. I use something very similar with my archtop forms. I made a removable, curved piece for the cutaway. Since it's removable the form can be used for non cutaway guitars too. Thanks for this post Chris. I'll be copying this tool for florentine cutaways.

Thanks.
