bolero Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 tried the 535 out at rehearsal last night....it has a fatter tone than my H150, and feeds back with wild abandon...yeehaw! one tune turned into a big wet, messy jam...some clams all around but it was fun winging it by the seat of our pants & hanging free...somewhere in the middle the drummer decided he wanted to go Grateful Dead so I did my best...am normally just a blues hack....what's a major scale? stereo mic in the center of the room, in a direct line of fire with the keyboards & gtr, certainly not a professional recording by any means lets see if this embedding on myspace works: nope I guess not...well here is the link anyway I love the sound of a Fender Rhodes!! http://www.myspace.com/galactagog/music/songs/ram1jam-mp3-93008602
bolero Posted May 2, 2013 Author Posted May 2, 2013 haha, wow I didn't think it was that bad?? lol it is just a hack recording however no worries....I am going to go cry in my beer
kidsmoke Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Can't get to it, or I'd give it a go. Sounds like a fun time though, and that's most important.
Gitfiddler Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 How do you like the Lollar Imperials? Are they his low winds? Collings uses those in their uber expensive gits.
tulk1 Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 It's still going!! This is like the music I used to play many moons ago. You start with a theme and see where it takes you. It can be quite a journey. I heard that when Greg first got Duane to hook up with Dickie they jammed over 12 hrs on whatever came to mind. I miss this type of creation. And I think from what I've heard so far, that you guys did a great job!
Guest HRB853370 Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Dude if you are feeding back with a 535 what is the problem!!
bolero Posted May 2, 2013 Author Posted May 2, 2013 thx!! I will try to get a better recording, we have our first mini-gig tonight, so we have an hours worth of stuff using the 535 and my garnet 2xEL34 combo...sounds a bit muddy I think the eq has to change vs the H150 as the 535 has huge mids using a carl martin delayla & tremovibe to mix things up
Yooper Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Good jam. Hear some Lollar Imperials through a Strat. Once you make it past “Within You Without You”, should that be a turn-off for some of you, the jams are sweet indeed. Check out “A Day in the Life” that rivals Jeff Beck’s take on it. bolero Posted May 3, 2013 Author Posted May 3, 2013 holy crap those guys are amazing!! nice recording as well....must have been a soundboard then remixed? very well done I really dig the drummer looks like the guitarist is using a bandmaster head....do you know those guys? ps our 1st gig went well, but in the haste of setting up I didn't turn the damn mic on, so it didn't record anything
ridethatbike Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Sounds great...keep em posting. I really like the guitar tone. Very nice!
bolero Posted May 4, 2013 Author Posted May 4, 2013 here is another we are working on...by the end I had figured out those double-stop descending parts, sounds pretty ugly until then http://www.myspace.com/music/player?sid=93027626&ac=now I like the jam @3mins or so
bolero Posted May 4, 2013 Author Posted May 4, 2013 ack...link in the very first post is dead, I boosted the levels a bit so it's not so quiet & re uploaded I guess it's a different file now http://www.myspace.com/music/player?sid=93027650&ac=now
