Hi all.. new user, first post.

I have a H-157 I bought @ 1990.  The serial number is F02102, so from what I've read.. it was built in 89.  Would anyone know what kind of stock pickups I have?  For all your information, this guitar is truly a beast, it has been used, abused and used.. and it still sounds absolutely amazing.  Around 1994, my young son knocked the guitar off the stand, and it landed head stock first.. cracked it badly.  I had a friend repair it (not knowing I should have taken it to a professional).. he glued it and screwed it and it was ok for about a year.  The second time it fell, the weight of the guitar broke the weld on the stand and the head snapped off.  It sat in my basement, at times in the case, on the floor.. eventually it was just in pieces for the past 12 YEARS.  The poor thing was neglected, and I was ready to cannibalize the parts for a Epiphone Les Paul custom I have.  Eventually, I asked my local shop if there was anything he could do and put it back together and he said he would do his best.  Two months later, I got the beast back, head stock glued, sanded, painted..he did do the best he could.  Anyway, I plugged this bad boy in and it sounds like it did in 1990.. AMAZING!!!  I can't tell you how happy I am with this guitar, the Epiphone custom is a nice guitar..but The Heritage absolutely blows it away, the sound, the action, the quality can't be compared.

First of all, welcome to the Heritage Owners Club. Secondly, how about a pic of the "beast"? We'll need to see a couple of things: the pickup surrounds and of course, that break and it's fix. Sounds like that is a true beast. And as for blowing the Epi away --- darn tootin'! These are guitars exceeding the G's in quality, tone and durability. So, no surprise you like it better than the Epi.

If the surrounds have double screws on each side it's a good chance you have Schaller's. Sometimes it's written on the control cavity cover. Or you could just pull one - it should be on the pickup. Glad to hear you got it out of the case and fixed up. Now, lets see that baby before you get the dreaded "useless thread without" smiley.

I'll get some pictures taken ASAP.  I'm pretty sure there are 2 screws on each side of the pickup...I'll verify tonight though.  It's a black beauty with gold hardware, as you will see.  If it ever breaks again, I'll have the neck replaced, regardless of the cost.  I've seen the light.

Welcome!  I'm willing to bet you have Schaller pickups.  Just my 2 cents worth.  Your 157 is absolutely worth the money to fix.  Way better than any G***** in my opinion.
