High Flying Bird Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 I just remembered it had Seth Lovers in it, He had two that were about the same but yours had the nicer top. Talk about piling on a man. I can hear his wallet sweating.
Keith7940236 Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Congratulations on your first Heritage. Welcome to the HOC.
bolero Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 welcome & congratulations!! I love Prospects....they are fantastic...nice comfortable size...BIG TONE like an idiot I sold mine!!
Steiner Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Well... How do you do? A perfect introduction from a man who obviously knows how to do it right. A vast majority of us get together in the fall to show off our latest Heritage fashion and tour the factory; you should join us. As an unofficial HOC welcome may I bestow upon you two of the cliches that truly fit your current situation: Nice snatch! Welcome to the collective.
vdanger Posted May 11, 2013 Author Posted May 11, 2013 Thanks to all for the kind wishes. Looking forward to getting the guitar. I've only been playing for 5 months so I don't even deserve it but what the hell. Now I need to find a good bedroom amp to play it with. I got a blues deluxe but its way too loud, even turned down. Typical newbie mistake, I now know I should have gotten something in the 5 watt range instead of 40.
PrairieDude Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 You don't necessarily need a new, smaller amp. Just a nice set of headphones. And congrats on your guitar and welcome.
noonesperfect Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 If you're just learning, there are some very nice, inexpensive amps available like the Roland Microcube or the Fender Mustang I. There are also some tube amps for a little more money, like the Bugera V5 or the VHT Special 6. You could also get an attenuator for the amp you have. I think the headphones are a great solution if there is an output jack for them on your amp. Brad

Brad Or for those that don't care for the Chinese made Mustang 1,2 or 3, how about the USA made Peavey Bandit? Transtube, pedigreed, and built to last. They are also abundant in the pre-owned market!
heritagefan7 Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Congrats on the new H and welcome! Amazing group of folks here. Amazing git that you started with! Enjoy and welcome.
rockabilly69 Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 That looks like a great guitar. Nice top, semi-hollow tones, and Seth Lovers, which are great pickups!
Gitfiddler Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Now I need to find a good bedroom amp to play it with. I got a blues deluxe but its way too loud, even turned down. Typical newbie mistake, I now know I should have gotten something in the 5 watt range instead of 40. Congratulations on making a GREAT guitar purchase. Obviously the tour sealed the deal for you. Prospect owners all seem to love theirs, and Seth Lover pickups are well suited to semi-hollow gits and most others. Well done and welcome!! And before you invest in another amp, try turning your Blues Deluxe around with the speaker facing the wall, or a corner of the room. That'll attenuate and disburse the sound a tiny bit. Those are sweet amps that can sound pretty good at bedroom levels and great when turned up a bit. You can 'grow into' that amp as you learn more about the guitar. With a sweet guitar and amp setup all one needs is time to get better.
DavesNotHere Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I'm a little late to the party but welcome aboard! That is is sweet. Is that finish VWB? That's one of my favorites.
vdanger Posted May 13, 2013 Author Posted May 13, 2013 Gitfiddler, that's a great idea. I'll try turning it around. I already got a weber attenuators and its still too loud. The room I practice in is right above our tv room and my wife is always banging on the ceiling and telling me to turn it down. If that doesn't work, I was thinking of getting a vht special 6 head. You can switch it to 3 watt and then I could set it on top of the blues deluxe and use the speaker in the blues.
