schundog Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 My 575 needed a truss rod adjustment and, oddly enough, a front strap button; It never had one installed at the factory. I brought it into Curt's shop, and said, the guitar was defective. He shot me a wary glance, and then I smiled and told him it was defective because I sounded NOTHING like Wes Montgomery.... I asked him if he had time to take care of those two things while I waited, and while he said yes, he couldn't believe I wanted him to drill into the guitar for the strap button; he suggested the old string around the headstock idea, and I politely told him I'd rather have the strap button, and better HE drill into the thing than ME! He had me check how I liked the action 2 or three times as he worked the truss rod. He wanted to make sure I was completely satisfied. He took care of me, no charge, and shared his unwavering opinions on anything and everything while he worked. The cat would not be deterred from being right in the middle of the action. He says she catches at least one mouse a week, leaves it in the middle of the aisle for him to see it, eats about half of it, then throws it up. Yum! Also, as you can see, if any of you need a nose flute, this is the place for you.... One pic below shows Curt going "in back" to get some beeswax to make the screw go in easier; God only knows WHAT he's got back there after 40 some years.
Guest HRB853370 Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Nice! But is he setting that guitar backside down on that glass counter with no padding?
