yuominae Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Prompted by SouthPawGuy's request for pichers, I am proud to be able to NHD my new used H150 which arrived today! 2006 Heritage H150, bought from a Korean guy in Japan who bought it from the US of A himself. After my unsuccessful attempt at owning a Gibson LP standard I didn't think I'd ever like a LP style guitar, but this guitar is just amazing! I kind of regret that comment I made yesterday about Hamer quality being better than Heritage, because this thing is just really really nice! The back's got some scars: but for $1100 it would be a bit rich to complain. Gonna have to sell my H535 to pay for this. But it's more than worth it. I was still having trouble getting over the over'straight neck and the bold patch on the neck of that one anyway. And then there is this H140 which I bought from Paul144 on this site. I haven't NHD'd it until now, because I was wondering whether or not I would keep it. Supposedly wine red, but looks more like blood red to me: It's a 2003 I think, in very good condition. Paul144 made some changes to it: Manlius pickups and Grover deluxe tuners. It came with a tuneomatic bridge and aluminium tailpiece. The tailpiece looked like it was put on sideways or something. Anyway, it didn't fit properly and after I took it off, I never managed to put it back on. So I put on the Schaller bridge and tailpiece which you see now. I like it a lot better this way. No scratches on the back for that one: Personally I think it also needs Grover kidney tuners and some black top hat knobs... The thing is though, that I still need to sell one more guitar to pay for the Hamer I NGD'd yesterday, so this guitar might find itself getting flipped. That is, unless I can find it in me to sell my Gibson LP firebrand... but the chances of that happening are slim, so watch the sales posts for this axe in the next few days
SouthpawGuy Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Congrats on your double NHD. What a fine pair you grabbed !
tulk1 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Never been a fan of the H140 with the pointy hooky doo horn. (sorry, guys, but it's how I feel about them). But that 150 just SCREAMS!! "Play Me!!!" Cream tuner buttons on the 150 would set fairly well. IMO, anyway.
FredZepp Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Love both of them.... two fine examples there.... The 150 has a really sweet top on it...
big bob Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I kind of regret that comment I made yesterday about Hamer quality being better than Heritage, because this thing is just really really nice! Aww, we forgive you. Happy new guitar day. As for you Kenny, keep your pointy comments to yourself.. (you know I still love you)
DetroitBlues Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I rather like the pointy 140 cutaway myself too. But I also like a more appointed fretboard being as spoiled as I was with my first 140.... Enough about me! Congrats! Nice SNATCH!
schundog Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Whoa, man, you've got it BAD! Good for you, haha. Enjoy 'em, they are nice!
Steiner Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Nice snatch! I rather like the pointy 140 cutaway myself too. But I also like a more appointed fretboard being as spoiled as I was with my first 140.... Enough about me! Congrats! Nice SNATCH! Those gitfiddles are snatcherrific!! Yes! Snatchalicious even Yes, yes, yes, yes.. A double snatchaliciouserific day! Wow and Congrats.
yuominae Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 Thanks guys! I finally understand why everybody on here keeps going on about their H150. They're amazing!
