soybean Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 What what if the "nut" is not the problem? Then you have wasted good sauce! Yes, but it often is. Almost all guitars can be improved with a lubed nut. Otherwise, get one of the teflon nuts, or Graph Tech.

I'd check for strings binding at the nut with the issue that you're having and double check intonation just for kicks. Eh, yep. Thats what he told me. randy2270 Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 I agree with the maple neck being more resistant, I also think that body heat has a lot to do with it for acoustic guitars. My Jumbo Guild does a decent job of staying in tune but my archtops, oh vie, what a chore that can be. I swear they go out of tune as I am tuning them. I am a luthiers best friend when it comes to a floating bridge and seasonal changes.
