Kuz Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 New Over-the-top Pedal Board Day.... I have actually had this for a week. Once I got my Rat pedal, my previous board was too small to just add it. I wanted a pedal board where all my pedals were available and all could be looped for true bypass. I paid WAY to much, but it is all wood and built like a tank. I will be moving a lot of gear soon, but that is for another post for another time.....
schundog Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Very nice, John! You are a man of fine tastes! Regarding your moving a lot of gear soon, I'll be eagerly anticipating your selling your vintage Mustang to me (yeah, right, like Wifey would let THAT happen! haha). But seriously, that is a beautiful pedal board.
SouthpawGuy Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Looks like a well made board, psu (s) underneath ?
FredZepp Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 That looks great... nice quality. It looks like you like some overdrive / distortion when you play .. ..
GuitArtMan Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 John, nice board. I thought you were an Axe-Fx guy? I have a sadly now defunct Rock-On pedalboard. The thing that attracted me to them was they are made out of PVC and without pedals weigh only about a pound and yet are quite strong. They also came standard with a padded carrying bag with shoulder strap, nice. I need to reorganize mine as I'm always swapping pedals in/out, some have velcro, some don't, some the velcro is coming off of. I'm also getting tired of velcro in general, it seems hit or miss how well it will stick. I've got some pedals that I need to pry off with a screwdriver, others barely hold on, both with the same velcro. Weird. I've used the zip tie method in the past and while it hods the pedals securely, is easy to remove, it's ugly as hell imho. I'm not sure what the ultimate solution is.
kidsmoke Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Nice Job Kuz! I see the George L everywhere. So easy. Love that stuff as well. Enjoy it!
DetroitBlues Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 John, nice board. I thought you were an Axe-Fx guy? Oh ya! I forgot about that... Good call.... Lol
pegleg32 Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Wow, that is cool John, made out of bamboo I see, and not cheap!!!
Kuz Posted June 1, 2013 Author Posted June 1, 2013 Looks like a well made board, psu (s) underneath ? Yep, under the the left side where the upper tier of pedals are.
Kuz Posted June 1, 2013 Author Posted June 1, 2013 That looks great... nice quality. It looks like you like some overdrive / distortion when you play .. .. Well, Fred each OD does a slightly different tone; vintage TS9 is SRV, Fulltone full drive kinda dumblesque, Ethos is Dumble, RAT is the perfect higher gain, and the TC electronics is truly vintage. Not having all these OD pedals available at once was the reason for this pedal board.
tulk1 Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Nice board, John. Curious, since you have all your pedals into the switcher, wouldn't it more efficient to have that on the front row?
Kuz Posted June 1, 2013 Author Posted June 1, 2013 Nice board, John. Curious, since you have all your pedals into the switcher, wouldn't it more efficient to have that on the front row? Not really, because it is easier to loop the in/outs out the back and this way gives easier access to the boost & channel switching channels of the Fulltone & Ethos when they are up front.
Trouble Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 I like it, the board itself is really nice looking and the layout is nice and clean, with nice effect choices as well. I do have one question though, why put the looper on top? It seems like it would be better on the bottom, since you can leave everything on and just switch it out with the looper.

Good call.... Lol HOW many times have I CONSISTENTLY stated.... The Axe FX is perfect for recording AND the amps/pedals are for LIVE playing!!! I mush have qualified this 50 times!!!!! LOL, nice try....

Two reasons (I replied to Kenny because he had the same question)... 1) The in/out cords are in the back and can go right behind the hinge where the power supple is hidden, so it is cleaner. And since this part is elevated and the looper is higher they are super easy to stomp on. 2) The Fulltone has a boost, and the Ethos has a clean channel & boost, so I am using these all the time and it is easy to step on these up front.
Kuz Posted June 1, 2013 Author Posted June 1, 2013 Wow, that is cool John, made out of bamboo I see, and not cheap!!! The bamboo is supposed to be lighter & stronger than wood.
Gitfiddler Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 John, that exquisite pedal board is so YOU! Ha ha! You've got me curious about that Ethos pedal. Maybe it's your Dumble comment. I need to do some research on that one. Very nice Boice Box!!

I gotcha. It looks clean as hell I must admit. It does me no good to get mine really tidy because I'm constantly switching stuff out, I try to keep it as neat as I can but it's never as nice as that.
rockabilly69 Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Seriously, nice pedal board!!! Did ya snug those George L's up good and tight? That's the only thing on my pedal board that ever gives me trouble. I'm thinking about going to all soldered connections on mine, but I have a way less elaborate board than you do.
GuitArtMan Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 John, This post got me looking at pedalboards as a possible replacement/upgrade for my current board. Yeah they are expensive but you could easily spend as much or more for a board with less features. The BOICEBOX seems to have standard what a lot of other manufactures charge extra for as accessories. Nice board. Bob
