H535 Update

Well since I gave out about my new H535 when it arrived - here's how the story ended

Got this guitar from Jerry's Lefty Guitars, seth lovers and inlays upgrade

Needed a nut setup, general setup and had a crack in the tail at the strap nut . Good and bad news story, mostly good.

Got a bone nut, set it up to play 10's, the frets needed dressing/leveling. I wasnt happy with the action so had the saddles notched. The neck had a 14inch radius but a 12inch bridge so 2,3,4th string saddles notched a little more to level the strings on the neck. Got the crack glued here in Ireland, waiting on a paint touch up. I sent Jerry's lefty guitars a quote for the crack repair, which he payed immediately, sent a couple emails and photos to Heritage looking for advice but got no reply.

Finally got it back yesterday, used it at a rehearsal. And I have to say it sounds and plays amazingly. I was playing through a fender blues deluxe reissue (the tweed one) with a eminence cannabis rex speaker - which is a really nice speaker btw. All i can say is - despite the issues the guitar sounds and plays amazing - so happy bunny

Congrats on a great guitar, Ely. I'm a lefty myself. Jerry's a pretty upstanding guy and I'm glad to hear he did the right thing and paid for the crack.

as for 535's (sigh) I just sold mine b/c I need the money. Truth is, I never played it, it's a case queen, but so beautiful, and what a great bluesy tone!

My chambered 150 comes close enough to the tones, so, I won't totally miss out, but if I had my druthers and didn't have to, would never have sold it.

We tried to warn you about emailing Heritage. It's a waste of time. Those guys are old school and don't pay attention to their inbox.

Next time you want some advice from them, pick up a telephone and call M-Th in the morning.

BTW, Glad you're happy with the guitar!

I was thinking the same thing... If you want them to see a picture, might as well print it out and mail it to them...

Which is sad, because being old school is not an excuse for ignoring customer requests or using existing technology (how long has email been around?) to communicate with customers. I do like the fact that they will answer their phone, however (M-TH).

ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL!! CONGRATULATIONS!

Man, your 535 matches almost exactly my dream 535.

Congrats!

You mean the one you wanted to buy last week and I beat you to it?

Particularly when the necessary phone call is trans-Atlantic! Been there, done that :-/

Ely, glad to hear you stuck with it and got it fixed. You certainly had a right to not be happy with it at first. We all sorta knew Jerry would help out. He's a great go to guy for left handed guitars. Enjoy your first Heritage! It's a beaut.
