FredZepp Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 This is a Fake Heritage.. poly finish, scarf neck , etc
bigsbytp Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 All the fake Heritages I've seen have a wider headstock that says "Gibson".. Very easy to spot. There are even some Chinese fakes that say "epiphone" Big Bob - you got a great sense of humor man! Not unexpected from a fellow Bigsby fan I guess..........
bigsbytp Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Definitely original , no one fakes the Heritage smudgy serial number Agreed! what is up with the squished number? I once through I had something bogus because of that. I have a late 80s that the number is just about perfect - but also have something with something much less refined. Does anyone know why they went that way?
TalismanRich Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Good call on the scarf neck joint. Just about every Chinese (and Korean and Indonesian) guitar made has a scarf joint neck. It takes less wood, and it a lot easier to make than the way Heritage does it with two necks coming from one board with each being one piece. A scarf joint isn't necessarily bad, its just not the way Heritage does it!
