big bob Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I was doing my daily ebay shop and dream morning ritual and came across this http://www.ebay.com/itm/2000-Heritage-Eagle-Classic-Archtop-jazz-guitar-/200934241326?pt=Guitar&hash=item2ec89d342e It appears to be an eagle classic. This is where it gets strange, block inlays and a 1 PC mahogany neck? I was under the impression eagle classics had 5 PC maple necks?
SofaPlayer Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I could never understand how one could try to sell such a nice guitar with such crappy pics. It really looks like a 1pc mahogany neck but the guy says its a 5pc maple neck. I would ask for better pictures if I were interested. The block inlays would be a custom order, nothing wrong with that. And I guess a 1pc mahogany neck is a possible custom feature, too.
DavesNotHere Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Hey, this is family friendly forum, let's try and keep it clean
SofaPlayer Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Fantastic guitar, awesome pictures! I clearly see a 5pc maple neck as the seller says it is.
DetroitBlues Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 People ask for all sorts of unique specs on their Heritages, this doesn't surprise me. One of the great things about Heritage is the custom shop specs without the custom shop price tags...
big bob Posted June 15, 2013 Author Posted June 15, 2013 I'm wondering if its an all hog eagle w spruce top and inlays?
SouthpawGuy Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Why don't you ask the seller .. he's a HOC member
big bob Posted June 15, 2013 Author Posted June 15, 2013 Why don't you ask the seller .. he's a HOC member Really, who?
SouthpawGuy Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Really, who? Ebay username / HOC username is the same
Ned Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Looks like your kind of guitar, Lance. Catches my eye too.
FredZepp Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I see what you mean, Lance .. the back of the headstock pic doesn't show the layers of a 5 piece maple as you'd expect it would ... Perhaps abalone inlays? and although the pics are fuzzy... Is this a curly maple back... ?
bobjr Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Bigbob, gotta stick up for you. Looks to me like, not just, mahogany neck, but mahogany back and sides as well. Isn't that also unusual for a Golden Eagle? New member, first post!
tsp17 Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I was doing my daily ebay shop and dream morning ritual .... I am glad i am not the only one.
Dick Seacup Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Hey, this is family friendly forum, let's try and keep it clean Yeah, right? I opened the thread half afraid of finding outtakes from that porn Ron shot in his twenties! The other half was disappointment that it wasn't. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

On a better note the guitar in question is this archtop...the owner-seller could play a bar of soap and it would sound good!
