joeyh1485 Posted June 24, 2013 Author Posted June 24, 2013 Thanks fellas I'm looking forward to getting my hands on it (providing the deal goes through that is) I've been a strat man for a year but now I think its time to get back to an lpSo it is worth swapping my beloved amp and guitar for?My last lp was a Gibson lp295 but the damn thing wouldn't stay in tune so im hoping this will be better
SouthpawGuy Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 That particular guitar has been posted in the for sale sections a couple of times, by UK HOC members who saw it on Gumtree, and also if I remember correctly by it's owner a few weeks back.
H Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Hi Joe, another Scouser here Not resident since the early 1980's but a lot of family still in the city. These guitars typically go for around £1100, so if it seems like a good trade and you like the shorter scale and different feel of an LP-style guitar, go for it. If it's like any of the 150s I've had or played, it'll match pretty much any Les Paul you can get hold of.

I get the impression that it's been for sale for a while but it looks beautiful and there isn't much chance of me trying out before buying so I suppose im going to take a leap of faith lol

Im living the dream in norris green at the moment although I'm hardly ever at home as I'm in the navy I would say my guitar is worth about £1300 and I payed £1000 to get my amp custom built just over a year ago but it was on ebay for £500 The thing is I'm bored of my strat (love how it sounds but its really awkward to play as im use to the strings being further away from the body) and I no longer play with my ships band so my amplifier is gathering dust - even though its only 18watts with power scaling its still loud enough for my wife to want to kill me lol So I guess it is worth it What are the necks like? It was built in 1996 if that makes a difference? Im hoping it's going to be chunky
houndhome Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 This guitar,a 2nd,is still up for sale on ebay with several days still to go!!
mark555 Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Hi Joe, welome to the HOC from another Brit, here in Huddersfield. I get to Liverpool every week with work and my daughter lives in Kirkby with her husband. Heritage necks don't tend to be as thick as your 59 chair leg, but a few are on the heavier side. One thing is for certain, you will have a unique guitar that will stand out from the crowd. Good luck mate. keep the amp, you might want to go out and play before long when you get into the Heritage..

PunkKitty Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Hi Joe! Welcome to the HOC. H-150CMs are great guitars. I love mine.

Looks like there are two blue 150s for sale in the UK at the moment, the one pictured in this thread which is in Glasgow and another, the one I was referring to above, in Huddersfield and listed here ... http://www.heritageownersclub.com/forums/topic/22823-heritage-150cm-ultra/?hl=blue sorry for the confusion
H Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Howard, I never knew you were a scouser.... where from?Born in Everton - that's why I have blue blood - and lived in Aintree until I was 20, then moved to the sunny South
H Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Where abouts you frok mate? Im living the dream in norris green at the moment although I'm hardly ever at home as I'm in the navy I would say my guitar is worth about £1300 anr I payed £1000 to get my amp custom built just over a year ago but it was on ebay for £500 The thing is I'm bored of my strat (love how it sounds but its really awkward to play asbim use to the strings being further away from the body) and I no longer play with my ships band so my amplifier is gathering dust - even though its knly 18watts with power scaling its still loud enough for my wife to want to kill me lol So I guess it is worth it What are the necks like? It was built in 1996 if that makes a difference? Im hoping it's going to be chunky I lived in Aintree, just up the other end of Long Lane from you Sounds to me like you're losing money on this deal if you can make the £1300 and £500 you're estimating your gear is worth. I haven't played a Heritage younger than 2004 but the necks of the ones I have played were more of a medium, even my 1990 150.
SouthpawGuy Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 This guitar,a 2nd,is still up for sale on ebay with several days still to go!! Personally I wouldn't spend too much on a factory second.
joeyh1485 Posted June 24, 2013 Author Posted June 24, 2013 Thanks for the kind welcome guys Hi Joe, welome to the HOC from another Brit, here in Huddersfield. Small world mate I like the feel of the Gibson traditional necks but my old lp had a 60's thin neck and I was fine with that so i'm not that worried That's what I like about heritage guitars its unlikely that I will see someone with the same guitar as me I like being individual lol No chance of me gigging any time soon as I join a new ship soon and its too small to fit my gear on so it will just be me and my boss br for 2 years I lived in Aintree, just up the other end of Long Lane from you Sounds to me like you're losing money on this deal if you can make the £1300 and £500 you're estimating your gear is worth. This I haven't played a Heritage younger than 2004 but the necks of the ones I have played were more of a medium, even my 1990 150. Wow really small world! I think im pretty much prepared to accept the loss because I am falling for the blue finish and its not your run of the mill it's paul Cheers for the input fellas Wow its really hard to type on my phone sorry for the spelling mistakes lol

mark555 Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Go for the one in Huddersfield, you might get a better price and also it isn't a second.
