I was sitting on the sofa with my H 574 and decided to plug into my lil Peavey Rage 158! For all you people that said that jazz boxes can sound good through little solid state amps, well I UNEQUIVOCALLY DO AGREE!! Certainly not wall shaking volume, but for just playing some soft jazzier licks, it does the job for my living room!

Probably why the Roland solid state line is so popular with Jazz musicians...

On that note, all of my Peavey transtubes sound good with the archtops I have!

Had a Fender Ultimate Chorus, 2 x 60w stereo SS amp with 2 x 12" speakers. That was very good for ultra clean, and loud, jazz tones. The Roland Cubes are also great especially ones with the 12" speaker.

So true. if you are looking for a clear, clean, acurate articulation of your guitar's tone at home or small club volume, solid state is super. used it for years both at home and gigging. i'm back in tube mode now, but for portability, reliability, ease of use, and clarity, solid state can't be beat.
