How long did it take before the first 1000 with the reg number on the back of the headstock were built? When were #1 and #1000 built? Just curious.

I have #828. It's an "S" 2000(?).

Oops, "S" should be a 2002.

So assuming #1 was built in 1985, it may roughly have taken about 20 years to built the first 1000, that's more or less 50 GEs a year. Nice! Thanks for your help.

That would be about one a week. Never realised they made them that fast ?

But seriously ... if they're doing about fifty a year completing on average one a week that might explain why some finishes/ colours are most common for that model. They're hardly going to finish a batch of blue ones when brown burst is more favoured ?
