Is the nut bone or plastic?

Plastic. If I were to replace a nut I would go for the synthetic ones. I broke off my search a few months back so I don't have the details.

When I play though an amp I don't have sustain problems. Never have. I barely get to play my guitars. When I do I just play them.

Thanks! Just ordered a Tusq nut designed for another american guitar closely related to the H150. Hope it fits. Was only a few bucks on fleabay.

Tusq is the type I was looking at.

Are the same nuts fitted to all custom builds? It'd be great if you could order a Tusq nut from the factory, changing nuts can be a pain.

A bone nut has always been an option for a custom build, and if I remember correctly it doesn't cost that much more.
