wrxplayer Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Hi, I have an '01 H150CM. Link to pictures here: http://s235.photobucket.com/user/evanlerner/library/Heritage%20H150?sort=3&page=1 Two questions, if you can help. 1. How do I know if it's a Classic or "regular" CM? 2. Is the only difference the pickups, Duncans in the "Classic" and Schallers in the "regular"? Thanks/
PunkKitty Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 To me it looks like a 150 CM that had the original Schaller pickups removed and replaced. The easiest way to check the model number is to remove the control cover from the back of the guitar. There should be a sticker on the inside of that cover that will tell you the model number.
tulk1 Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Schaller pickups were stock back then. If it had Schallers it was a CM. If it had Duncan '59s it was a Classic. Same guitar, different pickups. Since you have the Schaller tailpiece, and assuming the pickups weren't changed out, then you have a Classic. But as PK suggested, best way to tell is pull the control cavity plate. It's all right there .... probably.
FredZepp Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Nice one !! My Classic says it on the label, I believe. I see that you have this one up for sale because it's not your style of neck... good luck with the sale ( or trade)
wrxplayer Posted July 2, 2013 Author Posted July 2, 2013 Well, according to the plate, it's a CM, but the pickups apparently aren't Schallers. Will pull them tomorrow and see what I find.
yuominae Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 If I go by the specs from my H150 Classic, the classic has a standard (LP type) bridge and tailpiece, Schaller tuners and 59 SD pickups. It should also say Classic on the control box cover sticker... Although in your case the sticker does not state the serial number, so it could have been swapped (unlikely, I know...) Nice guitar by the way! Just my 2 cents, but if the pickups sound good, does it really matter what's inside?
HANGAR18 Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I wonder if the specs would be etched in stone or would they be subject to a little wiggle room? Anyway, here are some observations made about one specific H150 CM Classic http://heritageguitarfan.com/modelpages/h-150cm_classic.html
