Well...looks like I shall remain Heritage-less. Went and checked out a gorgeous 2001, ASB 535 today. Flawless condition, goregoues ringing sound....tiny little pencil-thin neck. :(

Well, it was worth a shot. On to the next one, I guess.....

yeah, they seem to have always been on the thin side . . . even in 1976.

535?! 1976. This does not compute!!

My 2001 Prospect has the smallest neck of any Heritage guitar I own.

Coincidence ?

And how many have you auditioned? My recollection is you really liked the neck on my red 2005................

perhaps I should have been more succinct. It was a Gibson 335 - made in the same plant. Same plant, same neck.

My 555 and 535 have very big 50s necks.

Well, I did special order them with 50s necks..... The 555 was '07 and the 535 P90 was I think '09 or '08.

My old Dot Deluxe, now DBs, has probably the thickest neck, especially down in the first few frets, of any guitar I have played/owned. don't think DB will EVER find a 535 or 335 with that kind of a neck unless he does a custom order. My Gibson ES-335 neck is slightly beefier than my 535, but neither are anywhere nearly as much of a handful as that Dot.

My 2010 535 has a very fat neck... fattest neck of all my guitars !

Takes 5 min. of warm-up scales to limber up my wrist so I can pinky-fret the 6th string. 'Course, I'm a newbie, I expect that seasoned players can adapt near instantaneously.

It may have been custom ordered with this neck, don't know, I bought it from consignment at Elderly.

Cheers!

Yeah, I loved the neck on Big Red! I'm a damned fool for selling it 'because I wanted a brown one'. The other two I've tried both had really tiny necks. :(

Well, I work at Cranwell, Lincs, so I can pop by any time during the week! ;)

I've sent you a message with my contact details. I'll put the kettle on!
