MartyGrass Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 This is not a buy, sell or trade request. I'm looking for a gold screw and washer that holds a Grover Imperial tuning key button on. I have the tuner. The button fell off though and I lost the screw and washer. If anyone has one that is not in use, please let me know. I'll cover shipping, but I've never had to pay for a screw and won't start now. Here's the button next to the missing parts. Thanks.
skydog52 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Imperial screw. Imperial screw. My imagination has gone wild.
Genericmusic Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Use a brass one. That's probably what they are anyway.
GuitArtMan Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Imperial screw. Imperial screw. My imagination has gone wild. Lol! I was thinking the same thing. Sounds like a mixed drink...
skbaily Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Lol! I was thinking the same thing. Sounds like a mixed drink... Yeah, a really top shelf mixed drink, and that's just for starters! If I had what you're looking for MG, I'd happily send it to you. Happily, all my gold Grovers are securely fastened (although I've made a note to check them all). In a perfect world, we'd all get an Imperial Screw, free for the asking, whenever the occasion presented itself! ;-) Best wishes in your quest. (I've usually done pretty well going to a well-stocked Ace Hardware for this kind of thing).
High Flying Bird Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 In a perfect world, we'd all get an Imperial Screw, free for the asking, whenever the occasion presented itself! ;-) That's why we left the Empire. Now we get a Representative Screw. Meet the new boss..... Heritage may have some parts? The man lives in Kzoo. Maybe he tried already.

I'd be happy to go to Lowes, Depot or Ace hardware and dig through the bins looking for a replacement screw and washer, but I would need a sample in hand of the items you need replaced. I think I even have enough change on the floor of my truck to cover the cost of the screw (and washer). If you want to go that route, I'll PM you my mailing address so you can send me one of the remaining screws and washers. Heck, I could even bring the replacement screw to PSP with me if you like.
MartyGrass Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 I have a few places to look for the parts. The Imperial screw is slightly different than the kidney button screw. I had hoped someone had extra parts to save me from a scavenger hunt.
111518 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Allparts has: http://www.allparts.com/GS-3379-002-Gold-Long-Tuner-Button-Screws_p_1869.html $3.00 for six, plus shipping, so, not free, but then we'd all know who to ask for a spare ...
MartyGrass Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 The Allparts piece is slightly different. The head is larger. I called Grover this morning and they are sending the parts free. So I got a kiss and a promise for a screw. Oh yes, and some proper head. Here's their contact info in case someone else needs it. randy2270 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Don't get guitar parts at the hardware store it is usually a nightmare. I have that piece because my bushing broke on one of my other guitars and I swaped it out and replaced the imperials with all black. So now I have an imperial with a busted bushing, so you can have the hardware, no charge. Let me know if you need anything else because I obviously can not use it anymore.
Keith7940236 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Hi Mark, I sent you a PM, I think I may have some at home. I'll check this afternoon.
MartyGrass Posted July 12, 2013 Author Posted July 12, 2013 Well, the Grover parts arrived today, but they were the wrong parts. I couldn't have been more explicit on the phone with them, but they didn't charge me. Fortunately a HOC brother is sending me the parts.
