kidsmoke Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 You gotta go 357 if you have that itch. You'll always be able to find a 535, Millie's are out there.... But when's the last time you saw anyone but Brent move a 357, and that was within the family...
eljay Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 +1 on the 357. fabulous guitar, and will not be easy to find in the future.
DavesNotHere Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Any excuse to post my answer. I was at NAMM today talking to Lane Zastrow and I mentioned that I just picked up my 357 and how much I loved it, he seemed genuinely surprised that Marv did another couple 357s. And +1 on eljay's +1 there are not many more 357s in the future. If I read the tea leaves correctly, there may be only three more to be completed.
Millennium Maestro Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 The 357s are a cool beast, I would HIGHLY recommend the DC Millie... I spent a few years looking for another unsuccessfully. The 357s tend to have beast sized necks.
SouthpawGuy Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 A 357 would be cool but they don't make them in lefty
bolero Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 wow Dave that 357 is gobsmacking!!! Southpaw I think you'd be fine with a 357 in fact I was going to try & get one flipped because I prefer the toggle up top. my lefty buddy tried mine & he loved it.

But the knobs would be up under the oxters. Painful http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/mobileart.asp?articlekey=25484
tulk1 Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 1. 357 2. 535 3. Millie DC That's assuming you like the 357. It's not for everyone. I'm not sure I could ever play one. But if I wanted a Marv exclusive, it'd have to be that one. Altho' I have two custom orders with Marv necks. Close, altho' not quite a whole guitar.
bebove64 Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 If it were up to me: 1. Millie (Eagle 2000, a rare bird) 2. H535 3. 357
VJonathan Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Unfortunately, there are no more 357 instruments coming out of Kzoo. The last three are in production. :-( You can't go wrong with the DC Mille or 535, and the latter may give you greater versatility. JMHO

bolero Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 But the knobs would be up under the oxters. Painful here ya go...here is a lefty with a 357, he thought it was ok...and hey, it worked for Hendrix!!
smurph1 Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 I would take any of the above, provided I could get the right neck profile..
SouthpawGuy Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 here ya go...here is a lefty with a 357, he thought it was ok...and hey, it worked for Hendrix!! Ha ! How did you find it playing lefty for a short while ?
bolero Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 ahahahah, no that isn't me, it's a lefty I work with I didn't want to put his ugly mug in the public domain
Guest HRB853370 Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 If you want a 357 you better act quick! Why?
big bob Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Marve has said he is not going to make them forever.
tulk1 Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Marve has said he is not going to make them forever. He has said that before.
chico Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Lets face it guys and gals, HOC helps to spur Marv and the guys to keep on building them as long as they can still get up in the morning..not that I would wait forever but I still have hope I can some day get Marv to build a 357 for me.. what a synergy.
Kuz Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I think after the cool factor is considered, the Milli DC might be my choice. I don't really have an application for a 357, as ÜBER-cool as they are. 535 are easily had. But a Milli DC can approximate the sound of a 535 and a 150. The Milli DC might be the way to go.
tbonesullivan Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Millie or 535. Just not a fan of the 357 shape or styling.
