snowscientist Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 hello Heritage experts, I recently saw an AB serial number H150 for sale in a shop with kluson deluxe tuners with the ivory keys. Did any H150s come with these tuners stock? Just wondering as I am considering it and trying to understand if someone changed them out. The guitar is a consignment, so the shop itself doesn't know. Any insight appreciated thanks, Snowscientist
holyroller Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Don't mind me asking , but how much does the shop want for it?
snowscientist Posted July 14, 2013 Author Posted July 14, 2013 well, the guitar has some scuffs, and the ends of the frets on the high E string seem sharp to me as well. Overall, it looks pretty good, no pickguard or poker chip, and it is a sort of faded almond sunburst with a little bit of flame. I can't tell if it has been re-fretted, but the frets look a little off to me. Anyway they want $800 for it.
Millennium Maestro Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Thats a steal, and to answer your question.... I dont see alot of factory kluson 150 however you can order anything you want!
Kuz Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Are you sure they weren't Sperzel tuners with Ivoroid tuning pegs? I have four 150s with these tuners, so the Sperzel ivoroid tuners aren't rare. I have never seen a Heritage with Green Kluson tuners that was stock from the factory.
snowscientist Posted July 14, 2013 Author Posted July 14, 2013 The tuners were definitely Kluson deluxe, ivory knobs with waffleback type housings. Again, it may have been modified, and maybe even refretted, but I am not sure about that. I may pass on this one as the top is not exactly what I want, and the neck is pretty beefy for me. If anyone else is interested, I can give out the name of the shop that has it.

golferwave Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 A friend of mine who is a Heritage dealer has specified and received Kluson tuners on every Heritage he has ordered from the factory.
gpuma Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 it is a steal. Check the headstock for repairs. At that price I would not be surprised if it had a repaired headstock. Even more probable considering the tuners. it would still be a reasonable price, depending on the quality of the repair
