SouthpawGuy Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 guitar porn 013.jpgguitar porn 012.jpg My sweetheart. Nice !
Kuz Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 I have had two; Blonde GE with a floater, and my Florentine Cutaway GE with 4 point mounted Humbucker. The FGE is as loud acoustically (it is x-braced as well) as any floater pup Archtop I have played. They both sound slightly different plugged in, but I prefer the darker more modern archtop tones over the acoustic floater tones. But it is just a matter of taste, they both sounded incredible. The Blonde GE floater is gone, the Florentine GE will always be with me!!!
houndhome Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 My 1988 GE no.103 which has a K&K pickup mounted on the underside of the archtop
MartyGrass Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 I'm saying goodbye to this one. Going to another HOC brother.
H Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 I'm saying goodbye to this one. Going to another HOC brother. Doesn't that wrought iron piece get in the way when you move off the cowboy chords?
MartyGrass Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Exactly. Those black legs and the transverse white ornation seemed cool when I ordered them at Heritage, at Ren's suggestion that I really customize this one. Now I have mixed feelings about them. And it won't fit into any case.

Ned Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 111518 and Houndhome - you are killing me with the acoustics. Say the word - I promise a quick and easy transaction.....I guess I should say, play them in good health. Very nice indeed.
Gitfiddler Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 I'm saying goodbye to this one. Going to another HOC brother. I've always had a thing for that particular thinline beauty! Some lucky HOC'er is going to enjoy that one!
HANGAR18 Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Splendid ! I really like 5 piece necks. No wonder why these instruments are expensive!
