PunkKitty Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Seriously. Should I just bite the bullet and place an order? Or should I continue to search?
bolero Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 hmm maybe not very likely, the ones I've seen tend to be medium at the most I think Millenium Maestro would probably be the best person to ask? btw which model are you looking for?
PunkKitty Posted July 22, 2013 Author Posted July 22, 2013 I'm looking for a single cut with F holes. I don't want SAE wiring. Essentially I want a H-150LW with F holes.
DetroitBlues Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 I've only played two Heritages with chunky necks... I've heard of a 3rd... I'm afraid most of Heritages are medium to thin. Might as well bite the bullet like I'll have to do one day.
SofaPlayer Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 I'm looking for a single cut with F holes. I don't want SAE wiring. Essentially I want a H-150LW with F holes. Sorry for asking, I guess I'm just too stupid but what does LW stand for? This probably won't help but who knows. I've ordered my Millie with a 50s neck profile. It's not super chunky but pretty chunky and I found it to be the most comfortable neck I have ever played. And my Millie has a twin that must be out there somewhere - the Heritage folks installed the wrong Bigsby and my dealer (Jeff Hale) was persistent enough (I will be forever grateful for that) to make them start all over again from scratch and build a second Millie to my specs. I don't know what happened to the first one but Jeff Hale may be a good start to inquire, if you're interested. Here are both of them, the one on the right is mine and the one on the left may still be looking for a new home. Just came to my mind when I read your post.
HANGAR18 Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Sorry for asking, I guess I'm just too stupid but what does LW stand for? Heritage (unlike Gibson... that's a story for a different day) will let you know when a solid body guitar like the H150 or Les Paul Standard has been "chambered" in order to make it Light Weight, hence the LW designation. So, a Heritage H150 LW has one or more chambers routed into the mahogany body before the maple cap in glued on to the body whereas a regular H150 does not have chambering. The LW version can be around two pounds or so lighter than a standard H150.
SouthpawGuy Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 My 2004 Millie Std Ultra doesn't have a chunky neck, it's on the slim side.
Millennium Maestro Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 my input is most Millies will have slimmer necks, good luck on your aqisition.
Thundersteel Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Essentially I want a H-150LW with F holes. I've been thinking about that, too, for a custom order. It would be similar to the Les Paul Florentine, except I'd want the f-holes bound.
HANGAR18 Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I'm looking for a single cut with F holes. I don't want SAE wiring. Essentially I want a H-150LW with F holes. Or would it be better to say, "semi-hollow H-150 with F-holes"? My brain pictures a light weight having chambering but having a center block would be more conducive to f-holes. Uh-oh, but then you can't carve the top like a normal H150 and now my brain hurts trying to figure out how they would make such a thing.
HANGAR18 Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I've been thinking about that, too, for a custom order. It would be similar to the Les Paul Florentine, except I'd want the f-holes bound. I think you would get some resistance if you asked for binding on f-holes which are that small, or be asked to open your wallet a little bigger.
PunkKitty Posted July 23, 2013 Author Posted July 23, 2013 I've been thinking about that, too, for a custom order. It would be similar to the Les Paul Florentine, except I'd want the f-holes bound. This is exactly what I'm looking for. But I want a Heritage and not a Gibson.
SouthpawGuy Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Wouldn't the Heritage equivalent be an H-157 LW with f holes ? ( ebony board, triple binding on front and rear of the body )
PunkKitty Posted July 23, 2013 Author Posted July 23, 2013 Details. But yes, you are correct. Although a semi hollow 150 would be more than acceptable.
SouthpawGuy Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Details. But yes, you are correct. Although a semi hollow 150 would be more than acceptable. Could be wrong but I think kbp810s 157 custom order is constructed like a Millie.
tulk1 Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Details. But yes, you are correct. Although a semi hollow 150 would be more than acceptable. My Millie NFH is more like a Double Cut H150LW than a Millie, I'd say. And it has a baseball bat for a neck. I asked for chunky .... and got it!! Guess I could drag it up to PSP if you wanted to see and play it. It'd certainly give you an idea of what the LWs are like. And if remember correctly, the routing for the semi-solids and the LWs are the same. Where's that darned pic of the route? Here it be: This is my Millie NFH.
Thundersteel Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 This is exactly what I'm looking for. But I want a Heritage and not a Gibson If you want it, I'm sure they'll consider building it. I think you would get some resistance if you asked for binding on f-holes which are that small, or be asked to open your wallet a little bigger. The f-holes are bound on the 555, and I think they'd be the same size. But you're right--$$$!
SofaPlayer Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 A Millie Pro may be an alternative if they don't want to build a H-150LW with f-holes.
PunkKitty Posted August 4, 2013 Author Posted August 4, 2013 My PSP trip served it's purpose. The GAS is strong for a Millennium Ultra Std.
Blunote Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 You're GAS'n for special guitar. I hope you find one with a neck that suits you -especially one with HRWs (a magic combination) I fall in love with mine over and over.
SouthpawGuy Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 My PSP trip served it's purpose. The GAS is strong for a Millennium Ultra Std. Are you going for a custom order ?
PunkKitty Posted August 4, 2013 Author Posted August 4, 2013 Are you going for a custom order ? I can't right now. Maybe in the future. Right now I'm hoping to find something used.
