Regarding the magnet swap, there are tutorials on the web, but like I said I don't have a soldering iron or the room to work on a guitar or pickup so I have a friend who's a Luthier do it. However, it doesn't look hard to do.

The Duncan website, through their pickup forum, have really talented people who can explain the affect on sound of each magnet type on the tonal shape of a pickup. They can also help with the swappig procedure. It's also fun to read.

By scooped, I mean the bottoms can be too boomy and the tops a bit harsh, no middle. To me, the A2 magnet really rounds out the response and it sounds great. The magnets are ~$4 each through dbay/addictionFX. Fast service and free shipping.

Thanks for reading.
