bebove64 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Sorry to hear this Nacho. Think positive ! find a good luthier, everything is possible:
golferwave Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Great repair video bebove64! - Nacho, it looks as though your truss rod cover was broken also. If it is and you have trouble finding one let me know, I have several extra ones and I'll mail you one if you need it.
HANGAR18 Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 I asked what kind of glue they use at the factory and the answer was an industrial strength Tightbond wood glue which is said to be stronger than what normal people can buy at the local store.

Thank you very much Hangar18. Will be helpful to know this, I'll share with the Luthier. On the other hand I'm surprised, because I have no news from Heritage, after more than a week when I sent an email about the subject... :-( Best regards,,,:-) Nacho
PunkKitty Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Heritage isn't the best about responding to email. Only a few people work there. I've never seen a computer in the office. I don't think they have one. You might get a better response on the telephone. My question is what do you expect Heritage to do? You bought the guitar from a dealer. The guitar fell and broke. That's not Heritages problem. Accidents are not covered by the warranty. It would be better just to take the guitar to a good luthier and have them fix it.

yoslate Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Nacho, I work with a fine luthier here, in the states, and he's taught me how to repair broken headstocks. I've done two or three this year, just like yours. As Scott (golferwave) has observed, it is a clean break, with lots of surface for glue and clamping. Also, within the break, it appears from the photo that the wood fibers are not "torn," therefore, the two broken pieces should match back together cleanly and tight. Also, the truss rod doesn't seem to have been involved in the break. Looks like a good candidate for a good repair. But as everyone has said, find the best luthier you can! It's very, very easy to do a bad repair. Best of luck, and let us know how it turns out.

TalismanRich Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 I can see the thumbnails at the bottom, but the direct links don't seem to work. From the thumbnails, it looks like the repairs were successful.
tulk1 Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Can't see the real pics because they are on his hard drive, not a web server. However, it looks like it's been fixed. And nicely done. Would be nice to be able to see the full size ones, tho'.
golferwave Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 From what I can see with my magnifying glass it appears to be a superb repair. Congrats Nacho!
