allmantrout Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Hello all! I wanted to begin by asking why you think the H-207 DD is so underappreciated by those OUTSIDE this community? The value placed on these guitars as well as the 170 seem way low.
big bob Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 is it.. thats too bad ... When I take the stat dlx out it's allways a attention grabber, you know " hey whats that, I didn't think heritage made a super strat" "that thing is sweet" Take it out to open mike night, I bet you will get interest. oops almost forgot :this_thread_is_useless_withou :this_thread_is_useless_withou

fxdx99 Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Hi and welcome, allmantrout. Wow, that is one pretty 207 you have there. Just a guess... think solid body w/single coils get into the Fender camp and is just harder to break in there - even Gibson hasn't really done that. Hard enough to break into the Gibby camp and that's where so much of 'the story' links the lp/semi/jazz boxes that seem to be more successful models for Heritage. This forum is certainly the exception - there's plenty of admiration for the variety of solid bodies that had some design features usually attributed to Fender-style. How 'bout a pic of that 550 in your tag line? That sounds like an interesting guitar... as well as you having 2 anniversary models with the same serial number?!? Was that planned? Really nice sounding collection you have there.
Gitfiddler Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Allmantrout~ Your 'H-207DD' is an awsome, yet evil looking beasty. I like the nice burst as well as the red double horns! >
big bob Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Hey allmantrout, I would get rid of thoes emg's and either put back the schallers or swap for dimarzio, duncan, anderson that would help the next time you want to sell.
brentrocks Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Here are the Pics. Sorry about that. Newbie. Welcome...so that is yours? nice guitar....i think you may have had more luck selling it if it had the stock pups....still very cool Heritage....if i had the coin i would like to try one.
allmantrout Posted September 2, 2008 Author Posted September 2, 2008 The EMGs were stock delivered by Heritage!
brentrocks Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 The EMGs were stock delivered by Heritage! no way?
mars_hall Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 I like the design. I am a crossover type guy that likes the dynamics of single coils and the bite of humbuckers. Many of my guitars are H-S-S
fxdx99 Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Whoa! Check out that pick guard. That's what I thought - what a great match on finish/burst/flame.

davesultra Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 The EMGs were stock delivered by Heritage! He may be right. I seem to remember seeing an old Heritage ad that had a guitar (may even have been the same model) with those PUPS in it. I'll look around in some of those mags and see if I can find it.

Dick Seacup Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 No kidding, the gold Milly DC sounds mighty interesting.
allmantrout Posted September 6, 2008 Author Posted September 6, 2008 After looking closely at the control cavity, the EMG's must not have been original. Looks like resoldering all over the place. What were the original pickups and how do I find them? 170dd solder.jpg 170dd solder.jpg_thumb
big bob Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 I would imagine they were schaller high output.. email heritage and they can tell you exactly what was in it, I think gballman had/has one he might know as well all the other s/s/h heritages came with schaller high output pups, same as early 80's kramers.
