DetroitBlues Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 I don't know how that website is even in business... They make copies of everything under the sun, all illegal and of poor quality too.
tulk1 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 might be okay for a child who is a beginner. Sorry, Katy. No, those would not be okay for anyone. They are rip offs, counterfeit crap. The simple fact that they aren't really Heritages makes then unacceptable, period. Then again, it looks like Heritage has hit the big time, if those *&^#@s in China are copying them.

koula901 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 didn't someone say, in another post, that Heritage was having some guitars built overseas? Was it not China, then?

bolero Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 is there not some fraud agency these guys can be reported to? where is our resident fraud expert??
SouthpawGuy Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 All these guys are doing is using photos from legit ebay auctions. They then add their own watermark to attempt to make their own site look legit. The image I linked to above was used on ebay a few weeks back, I distinctly remember posting that shot in the bay watch section. Anyone who sends them $$$ will most likely receive nothing in return, or at best a really cr@ppy "instrument".
SouthpawGuy Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 And here is the thread in question http://www.heritageownersclub.com/forums/topic/22851-h-140-on-fee-bay/?hl=stinger&do=findComment&comment=307531 Same image, sans watermark, still on ebay
Genericmusic Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 No only do they sell instruments, they sell athletic shoes too. Maybe I can get that H-576 I always wanted and they can through in a pair of running shoes to boot. Beijing musical instruments Co., Ltd http://www.dhgate.com/wholesale/store/ff8080811aa5c55a011aa6fdaf2c21ee.html#prod-seller-prodname
tulk1 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 didn't someone say, in another post, that Heritage was having some guitars built overseas? Was it not China, then? Heritage was approached by an independent company about having some built overseas. Those are the "prototypes" you see pop up now and again. And they were not commissioned; the company (probably Samick) just made a few to show what they could do. The boys said No.
pegleg32 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 I've always wanted to play a guitar with basswood neck.
Guest HRB853370 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 is there not some fraud agency these guys can be reported to? where is our resident fraud expert?? Huh? I am busy trying to run down the perpetrator of a certain WANTED poster!

I certainly would not want the good "The Heritage" name soiled by some crappy import junk.

schundog Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Huh? I am busy trying to run down the perpetrator of a certain WANTED poster! Perhaps if the canine world wasn't wise to your antics, you could have a police dog help sniff out the perpetrator.....
TalismanRich Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Our government will have no jurisdiction since the companies are based in China which is famous for making illegitimate copies of everything from Iphones to movies to Windows to guitars. When Microsoft and the movie industry finally shut down all the counterfeiting, then Heritage won't have to worry about these guys. I'm not holding my breath.
HANGAR18 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Counterfeiting in China is absolutely rampant and our government already knows about it. They have counterfeiters on every street corner there the same way we have Starbucks on every corner here. There are even counterfeit military equipment parts getting into our military supply chair just as easy as fake Nike shoes are making their way into US retail stores. Copied music CD, fake prescription medicine, everything you can think of and they clearly don't give a crap about our copyright laws. The best defense is to learn about the genuine product inside and out in order to be able to spot a fake. You notice the black paint fade on the back of the headstock in that photo? That is there to hide the scarf joint they use on all the fake Gibsons and Heritages.
totonka Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 C'mon guys...we're talking about the pointy end of the spear here. Surely they would want to stop the import of counterfeit products to protect American jobs, right? Preserve the integrity of the free market? Enforce copyright and trademark laws? Intellectual property and all that?
