Chrome Hardware?

Why would anyone want to make their new guitar look old? Next time you buy a new car, ask the dealer to age all your car parts so it looks like a beat up car. That's the ticket!

Because its not a new guitar. 1990 is a 23 year old guitar. I prefer nickel hardware, and in 23 years of natural age, nickel gets a certain patina. All the other screws and such on the guitar, input jack, and selector switch have all aged with a nice patina. All I was trying to do was match the rest so the guitar actually looks its age. I hate chrome hardware because it always looks the same, and to Kidsmoke's point... to each his own.

Now, I do have two guitars that are new that I did not do that with because they will age on their own and I am cool with the shiny stuff because it is new... I am not a big fan of the road worn stuff, or unnecessarily aging things, but in keeping with the guitars age, thats why I decided to do it. You will find a lot of varying opinions on this issue, but thats why I did it in this case.

Done!!!! And the Antiquities absolutely ROCK!!!! I love this guitar. It plays like a dream and now it looks its age. Very happy I decided to do this, and happy to own a Heritage.

Nice - and top-wrapped for extra mojo ;)

You must always top wrap, how else would you unleash the mojo of a stop bar tailpiece? ;)

But seriously, it does look way cooler IMHO than just sending the strings through normally. Both of my guitars with tailpieces are top wrapped. Less string breakage and not as harsh of an angle down on the bridge.
