58super Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 I received this last Tuesday. H550 with the following options: 2.25 " rim Antique Natural 59 neck Upgraded top and back. Many thanks to Peter at Mojo Music in Oakville Ontario for the photos and getting this wonderful guitar for me.
tsp17 Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Wow. that looks like a truly wonderful guitar. congratulations.
111518 Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Cool. Don't think I've ever seen a 550 with a mahogany neck before. Given the number of Heritage custom orders that exist, it's probably not safe to call anything unique, but, that's a very interesting feature.

Thanks for the info (and sorry for uninformed post,) Shows how many newer Heritage guitars I get to see up here on the tundra. I knew the 550 went from maple to mahog, but didn't know this was also the case with the 550.

111518 Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 I was surprised too. There is no mention of on the website. I checked the Wolfe site out of curiosity, and he has a 2011 550 listed (sold) with a mahog neck --so, I guess the transition was not so recent. (and my post should have said" I knew 555 ... Congrats on the guitar. My 550 was my first Heritage; always been partial to the model as a very functional (and beautiful) jazz guitar.
58super Posted August 10, 2013 Author Posted August 10, 2013 Thanks for the congrats. I've always wanted a thinline jazz box but didn't want the short scale and narrow neck of a Byrdland.
big bob Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 That's a looker alright. My she serve you well.
TalismanRich Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Very sweet looking 550. I'm sure you'll enjoy playing it.
DavesNotHere Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Beautiful! Every 550 I've played has sounded great acoustically too.
yoslate Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Congrats! A beauty! Love an archtop, especially one with a classic look, such as yours.
schundog Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Congratulations! What a phenomenal looking guitar. Enjoy it!
