I agree with Bucky, and would add, based on the tone of my weight relieved LP, that the tone is a bit more "woody," less snap and ring. Not at all to say it's inferior, just different. Hit a piece of freshly cut and split oak, with a hammer. Hit a piece of kiln dried oak. The relative resonances ( in this painstakingly scientific technical analysis ) in the weight relieved, versus the solid guitar are (very) roughly analogous.
proxmax Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 are those LW chambered? my h150 weights 9.1
tulk1 Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 are those LW chambered? my h150 weights 9.1 Yep. Thats what brings in the LW - Light Weight. The boys have their own secret method of hollowing out the LWs. We thought for the longest time that they used the Millie Semi-Solid chambering for the LWs. But after a talk with the crew at PSPVI, I'm not so sure. A 140/147 2nd Ed would get a solid body traditional shape with less wood. The new version looks like the H150/157, just a tad bit smaller body, with a belly cut.
