For those of you that have or had the 150 and 140, what are the biggest differences between the two, size, weight, overall feel, playability? would a six foot man feel better with a150?

Thanks for your opinions,

Tim.

Weight of a 140 is considerably less being much thinner. Basically that's about it. Some may argue the less wood means less sustain, but the way it's made, I doubt it. Body shapes are nearly the same. Being 6' 1" myself, they look the same on you. If you're a bigger fella in the middle like me, having a thinner guitar body is a bit more comfortable because its closer to you. Standard features cosmetically are a little different. 150's usually have trap inlays on the fretboards and 140's have dots....

Hope this helps..

After playing Bass the majority of the time, I've turned my complete attention to guitar now.

I play an EB3 which is a thin Bass, and being a big guy maybe the 140 would be right.

the neck is the same as a 150 correct?

thanks Detroitblues and Punkkitty your input is most helpful.

The necks are about the same. But keep in mind that Heritage necks vary since they are all hand shaped. My 150 has a slightly chunky neck. It's perfect for me. But my H170 has a thinner profile. Also, the neck profiles have changed over the years. Every neck is an individual work of art.

Welcome to the fold timwmd. There is no design difference in the neck. Heritage can and will make a neck any way you prescribe. You can find differences within and between models.

I'm 6ft and have a 140. It's REALLY comfortable. So is my 535, but the 140 is more "tossable". Mine is the old style with the Florentine cutaway. The newer ones look more like the 150.

At PSP, Brent's quilt 140 was the workhorse of the day. It got a lot of play time. Obviously it did the job!

you'll like which ever you get! i had a 140 briefly but sold it for financial reasons. it never failed to please me. my 150s and 157 are delightful, too. a shameless plug, my gold top 150, with p90s, is for sale. good luck with your quest.

Many thanks to the forum, looks like I can't lose either way. I have sent pm's to some of you and all I have to do is make up my mind at this point. I can't wait to be a Heritage owner, and part of the club!
