Who's using the 50's wiring scheme?

I've wired many personal guitars and most customers utilizing this method and really like it.  There is one thing that bothers me though and it always seems to affect the bridge pickup only.  So I may experiment with 50's on the neck and standard on the bridge.

I'll go into more detail later, but for now, I'm just curious how many Heritage owners have experience with the 50's wiring and what are your thoughts on it, Pro's and Con's, Likes and Dislikes?

I changed all mine to "Vintage". Never liked the treble loss when you lower the volume. There are some cons...like take the volume down too much on one pickup (when in the center position) shuts down both.

I am. My volume and tone knobs are almost never ever on 10. It seemed to make all the knobs more usable for me. I was actually struggling a bit when I first got my H-150 and thought about replacing the pots. Did the 50s wiring - boom - done. It also seemed to add clarity to the neck pickup.

I think the tone controls now also have a more pronounced impact on volume. At times I just roll down a tone control to get less volume - I discovered this by accident. One night I thought I was rolling down the volume at a gig, I figured out later that the volume knob stayed right where it was  and I had been fiddling with the tone pots the whole time to bring down the volume/bring it up etc.

I almost never use the bridge pickup by itself.

When I have the peter green out-of-phase magnet flip, the neck tone control is rolled down at least 1/2 way whenever I'm in the middle, that's the way I like it.

But, YMMV.

Woof.

I changed to the 50's wiring on my H150 a few months ago (the same one from Rude Dog's link).  I like it a lot, since I also usually don't have my volumes on 10.  I think it's a great mod if you like to use your guitar knobs to change your sounds.  The tone and volume knobs are interactive, which may bother some people, because changing one affects the other.  I also tried the 50's mod with independent volumes, which I didn't like, because it seemed to take away some treble on all settings.
