FrankS Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 What makes an H-150 Special, well ....special? Or more special than a regular H-150?
tulk1 Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 Hi Frank, Just to get you started, here's a link to the obscure FAQs we have on the different models. Seems the Special is a bit thinner. But there may be other differences, as well. Others will chime in, but it can't hurt to view the FAQ.
chico Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 The H150 special was the stripped down model of the H150. Still a great tone machine, but had dot inlays instead of trapezoids, and usually the Schaller humbuckers v. the Duncan '59s or HRWs which are found in the 150 CM or up. Heritage being Heritage meant that some H150 specials often had varying pickups/hardware. Also, the 150 specials were often painted solid colors since the tops were not as asthecially-appealing as others (in terms of flame, etc.) In other words, Heritage's entry-level H150. The model was discontinued last year. My .02, FWIW.
FrankS Posted September 6, 2008 Author Posted September 6, 2008 Thanks for the link tulk1. I have never seen that info before.
tulk1 Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 You're welcome. It should probably be a sticky. And Chico's description is dead on. Especially the part about Heritage being Heritage means nothing is written in stone.
