brentrocks Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 After a long negotiation and a long wait, today I finally received the Milli DC from TX. I was very leery to buy it because it was a #2, but had beautiful wood, HRWs and all the bling, so I decided to take a shot in the dark. The first thing I knew I was going to do was lose the gold hardware. I took out the HRWs and installed chrome covers on them, re-installed them back in the guitar. I installed chrome locking Tone Pros Nashville hardware and chrome locking Grovers. I polished the frets, sprayed the pots, strung it up and tweaked the truss rod a bit. It has a lot of nice features....ebony board with MOP blocks, multi ply binding on the body, bound/inlayed headstock. The reason it is #2ed if for a finish flaw between the pickups and the upper F hole. Its somewhat noticeable, but not really horrible. I just got done putting it together and I plugged it in briefly....it sounds like a Heritage semi hollow with HRWs should sound.....aggressive bridge pickup, fat/creamy neck tone. It has a medium/thin neck and play like a dream.
skydog52 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Nice one Brent. Looks like it's in real nice shape. Can't wait for the video!
Billgelder Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Brent did you change the nobs? I thought it had speed nobs.

tulk1 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Millie DC. A truly beautiful guitar. Nice one Mr. H.
FredZepp Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 That looks great ! And, as usual, you had a plan for some tasty changes to fine tune it. Those millies seem like they would be a blast....
kidsmoke Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Love that color on THAT guitar. Dig the tuners. Affirm the decision to go silver. All in all I wholeheartedly approve.
Redsand Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Hell Yeah!! That's a winner Brent.........looks awesome and I'm sure its sounds killer too. Hopefully we'll get a tone demo or two, how much smaller is the body than a H535? - 25%?
DetroitBlues Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Brent did you change the nobs? I thought it had speed nobs. Probably had black speed knobs... Brent loves those...NOT!
Blunote Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Looks like the DC version of my Millie. The only way to describe the HRWs in that guitar is creamy. Nice grab!
Millennium Maestro Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Nice grab! Dont you mean "Nice SNATCH!"
koula901 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 That's one of the sweetest looking guitars I've ever seen - is that just plain ol' almond burst? Looks particularly good on that guit.

HANGAR18 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 It's awesome. I'm calling dibbs. So, that means that you would have two "holy graille" guitars?
SouthpawGuy Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Well snagged Brent ! I notice it has a rear access panel. Is the back flat or slightly arched ?
tulk1 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Well snagged Brent ! I notice it has a rear access panel. Is the back flat or slightly arched ? Paul, that one will be flat. All of the current production Millies are flat back. Unless ordered otherwise.
