CJTopes Posted September 3, 2013 Author Posted September 3, 2013 I'm sure I'll take a snapshot or two! It's Slammers 535.
tulk1 Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 What are you doing with Slammer's 535? Does he know about this? .............
Guest HRB853370 Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 What are you doing with Slammer's 535? Does he know about this? ............. What? I am calling my alarm company!!
CJTopes Posted September 3, 2013 Author Posted September 3, 2013 Given the size of the dent in my bank account I'd say that I purchased this axe fair and square!
Keith7940236 Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Congratulations, I can't wait to see the pictures!
DetroitBlues Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Given the size of the dent in my bank account I'd say that I purchased this axe fair and square! So you're the culprit that took the guitar from Slammer I've been working him for the past two years!!!
pressure Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Just hope when you get home that there isn't a shoe and handbag sized package sitting next to the guitar sized package.
CJTopes Posted September 3, 2013 Author Posted September 3, 2013 Yes I am the scoundrel who bought it....It was one of those things; A week ago I had no intention of buying a 535. Now I have one waiting for me when I get home. How did that happen?
Guest HRB853370 Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Given the size of the dent in my bank account I'd say that I purchased this axe fair and square! And you helped out a man in need when he spent his bankroll on a new Telecaster!!
Guest HRB853370 Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Just hope when you get home that there isn't a shoe and handbag sized package sitting next to the guitar sized package. If that happened, well, she deserves it!!!
Gitfiddler Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Given the size of the dent in my bank account I'd say that I purchased this axe fair and square! As long as there's no dent in the "guitar sized package...", don't worry about your dented bank account!
CJTopes Posted September 3, 2013 Author Posted September 3, 2013 Mrs Topes said the package arived in good shape. The dent in the bank account will be fixed as soon as I sell my H-150....
brentrocks Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Hopefully your wife allows you to open it
HANGAR18 Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Yes I am the scoundrel who bought it....It was one of those things; A week ago I had no intention of buying a 535. Now I have one waiting for me when I get home. How did that happen? My last remaining H157 was the same way. One morning I woke up never expecting to buy a guitar in the foreseeable future, but by the end of the day, I pulled the trigger and it was on the way to me.
bolero Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 SWEET!! congrats.... and don't worry about DB, he would have just sold it after a week or so anyway.... :D
CJTopes Posted September 4, 2013 Author Posted September 4, 2013 Wow, this axe has a great tone to it. Those Classic 57s really sound nice in there! It looks a lot better then in the sale Pics.

Glad you like it Chris. I always try to underpromise and overdeliver. Spray a ilttle shot of contact cleaner in the toggle switch cavity and that little popping noise should disappear.
DetroitBlues Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 SWEET!! congrats.... and don't worry about DB, he would have just sold it after a week or so anyway.... :D Yep, you never know....
Guest HRB853370 Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Yep, you never know.... That's what was holding me back......but I was going to make the guitar so expensive for him to buy that there was no way he would have wanted to sell it!
kidsmoke Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Really looking forward to a the 535/335 head to head cage match play by play account......
CJTopes Posted September 5, 2013 Author Posted September 5, 2013 I started that a little last night. Tone wise the 535 with the 57 classics kicks the 335's butt. Tonight the 535 is going out for it's first public appearence.

greatmutah Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 57 Classics are great pickups for these guitars. I love them in my 157. I just want a slightly hotter bridge pup though. Might do a 57 Classic Plus or try my hand at a Motor City Detroiter.
